Television Academy Launches First-Ever TV Festival “Televerse”

The Television Academy has made Emmy voting a bit more exciting by announcing their very first TV festival, “Televerse.” This event will provide both fans and voters with a unique opportunity to explore Emmy-nominated shows like never before!

The event is scheduled to take place from August 14th through the 15th at the JW Marriott in L.A. Live, Los Angeles. As per the Academy’s announcement, collaborations are underway with industry partners from studios, networks, digital platforms, and tech companies for an exciting lineup of “behind-the-scenes talks, meet-and-greets, engaging exhibits, exclusive screenings, and sneak peeks at upcoming content” during this festival.

For the first time, voters at Televerse will be granted entry to exclusive “for your consideration” panels endorsed by the Academy, featuring this year’s Emmy nominees before the final round of voting. The festival will also offer an interactive event area, allowing attendees to explore TV shows in a more immersive way and gain insights into the techniques that make their favorite programs shine.

Typically, the TV Academy outlines a comprehensive schedule of FYC (For Your Consideration) events during the initial phase, Phase 1. However, until now, they haven’t arranged similar events for Phase 2, which happens after the nominations are announced. These officially-approved panels will therefore concentrate on the nominated shows and not all possible contenders.

Cris Abrego, the chair of the Television Academy, finds this period in the development of television and the Academy particularly thrilling. He notes that our members are spearheading groundbreaking production techniques and pioneering storytelling methods. The Televerse event will gather top professionals, offer a wealth of diverse programming, and serve as a platform for sharing fresh ideas and industry innovations.

Attendees can pre-register by May 30 at televerse.com.
