Terry Crews Opens Up About Reuniting With Chris Rock And More For Everybody Hates Chris Reboot

As a gamer who’s seen more sitcom reboots than I care to count, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia when I hear about “Everybody Still Hates Chris”. Fifteen years have passed since the original series ended, and yet here we are, with Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold back in action. It’s like a reunion of old friends, and I can’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with them as they embark on this new journey.

In today’s entertainment scene, it appears that almost every classic show is either being revived, rebooted, or given a new spinoff. The latest example of this trend is the animated revival of the popular series “Everybody Hates Chris“. Although the roles of Chris, Drew, and Tonya are now voiced by different actors, Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold reprise their roles as Julius and Rochelle. Recently, Terry Crews has shared his thoughts on reuniting with narrator and executive producer Chris Rock, as well as other familiar faces from the original series

For four seasons from 2005 to 2009, Terry Crews was a mainstay on the original UPN/CW sitcom. Even though 15 years have passed since the show concluded, there are assurances that the upcoming animated series will successfully recapture the essence of its forerunner. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the former Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor expressed his excitement about rejoining Chris Rock, Tichina Arnold, and original co-creator Ali LeRoi, who is now serving as an executive producer. It seems that Crews is overjoyed at this prospect

To whom this applies: Is my question. It’s been 20 years since we last did this project, but now we get to do it again with the same team. Tyler James Williams has achieved great things on his own, but having Chris Rock and Tichina Arnold back feels like coming home. And let me tell you, it’s incredibly funny. I’m overjoyed

It’s a bit of a letdown, but reasonable, that Tyler James Williams and other grown-up former child actors won’t appear on Everybody Still Hates Chris, considering their current age. On the other hand, it’s thrilling to know that Terry Crews and other original cast members are returning. This reunion is especially sweet to me now after hearing the thoughts of the actor from Killer’s Game. I can certainly imagine how strange and exciting it must be for him to work with his old colleagues again

In 2021, news broke about the revival of “Everybody Hates Chris.” Notably, Chris Rock was set to be part of it since the series is inspired by his life in Brooklyn as a kid. However, when Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold were also confirmed to rejoin the cast, that boosted anticipation for the project. It seems they managed to find their rhythm again despite the long gap since last working together

Absolutely, it’ll be challenging for the reboot to match the excellence established by its original series, given its status as one of the finest sitcoms ever made. Nevertheless, with a talented creative team on board, Everybody Still Hates Chris could potentially offer a fun and engaging viewing experience

For quite some time, there was much debate about whether or not a reboot/revival of “Everybody Hates Chris” would take place. Given all the factors involved, I’m absolutely thrilled that this project is now moving forward. Plus, it’s wonderful to know that Terry Crews will be reuniting with the team he created TV history with more than a decade ago

Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait much longer to catch up with “Everybody Still Hates Chris”, as the new series kicks off on September 25 on Comedy Central, according to the 2024 TV lineup. In the interim, viewers can enjoy classic episodes of the original show by streaming them for free on platforms like Tubi and Pluto, or with an active Hulu subscription
