Tesla Recalls Over 1.8 Million Cars Over Detached Hood Risk

As a seasoned Tesla enthusiast with a decade-long history of owning and driving various models, I must express my disappointment and concern over yet another recall by Tesla. This latest recall affects 1.85 million Model 3, Model S, Model Y, and Model X vehicles produced between 2020 and 2024, due to a software issue that fails to notify drivers if the hood of the car is unlatched.

Approximately 1.85 million Tesla vehicles need to be recalled: Model 3, Model S, Model X produced from 2021 to 2024, and Model Y manufactured between 2020 and 2024. This announcement does not concern the Cybertruck but rather these specific models.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reported that Tesla’s software may not alert drivers if the hood of the vehicle is not properly latched. This could result in the hood obstructing the driver’s view while on the road.

Back in March, Tesla started looking into customer reports regarding an issue, assuring no incidents resulting in injuries or fatalities had occurred. By June, the car manufacturer released a software upgrade to address and resolve this problem.

Tesla has once again initiated a recall, affecting approximately 12,000 Cybertrucks, following the discovery of a problematic windshield wiper. This action adds to Tesla’s previous recalls, which were triggered by issues with its Autopilot system and accelerator pedals among other things.
