As a gamer who’s spent countless hours sorting through my own trophy room of virtual achievements, I can’t help but chuckle at Tom Brady’s predicament with his real-life Super Bowl MVP trophies. It’s not every day you amass such an impressive collection that even you can’t keep track!
Approximately two years after Tom Brady hung up his football cleats, this father of three is taking giant strides, acquiring a share in the Raiders and transitioning into a role as an NFL analyst with FOX Sports. Despite no longer being on the field, he remains deeply linked to the league that catapulted him to fame. However, maintaining contact with his career memorabilia isn’t always his forte. In fact, he made headlines recently with a laugh-out-loud moment when he couldn’t locate one of his Super Bowl MVP trophies.
For several months now, Brady has invited celebrities to roast him, an experience he later expressed regret for and vowed not to repeat. However, the Internet, in its characteristic manner, seems unwilling to let him off easily. Recently, Brady gave fans a tour of his office, displaying personal items like an affirmation notebook (“no fear” is one example) and sharing his extensive trophy collection.
The only funny thing? He couldn’t find one of his Super Bowl MVP trophies. Take a look.
Brady has amassed an impressive collection of awards in his football career. He boasts five Super Bowl MVP trophies and seven Super Bowl rings, along with three NFL Most Valuable Player Awards, two NFL Offensive Player of the Year titles (plus AFC ones as well), one NFL Comeback of the Year Award, a record 15 Pro Bowl appearances, and numerous other awards such as the Bert Bell Award in 2007. In essence, his trophy room is overflowing with memorabilia from his successful career.
Walking through my office, showcasing the early MVP trophies modeled to perfection, I searched for the remaining three, but alas, one seemed to have vanished. The video team assured me, “Fear not, Tom, your other Super Bowl trophy has been found,” yet that didn’t prevent fans from grilling me on social media, particularly Instagram, over this little mishap. One fan even landed a witty comment that had garnered over 4K likes at the time of writing.
Giselle got that one in the settlement.
It seems to me that the casual commenter might have taken more pleasure from their roast than Nikki Glaser took offense.
Honestly the comments section in general about this is great. Bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman joked he’s done this before with his own trophies, writing, “I’ve lost a Sandow trophy once before too hahaha.” Other fans joked — or were impressed — about the move on a post from Bleacher about the video, writing,
- Brady treats his Super Bowl MVP trophies the way I treat my keys. ‘Eh they’re around here somewhere.’
- He knew where it was, just a little flex 💪🏻
- Tom got some many trophies he can’t even keep track. That’s tough 😤🔥
- Haha silly tom! oh where can that silly trophy be! 🥰😝
My reaction was honestly closest to the person who called Tom Brady out for the “little flex.” But really, getting to the point where you could be so competent on an elite level where you have so many awards that you aren’t even able to keep tabs on all of them is pretty much the definition of the word. However, it’s worth noting Jason Kelce once lost his Super Bowl ring in a pool “filled with chili” so this stuff does happen from time to time. As the video notes, at least Brady’s Super Bowl MVP trophy story had a happier ending, as I don’t Kelce ever found his ring.
