As a seasoned watch collector with a penchant for the exceptional and the unique, I can hardly contain my excitement about The 1916 Company‘s Icons of Time world tour. Having been fortunate enough to witness some of the most intricate timepieces from F.P. Journe and De Bethune in various exhibitions over the years, I can confidently say that this tour promises to be a visual feast for any horological enthusiast.
1916 Company is launching the global journey of its “Icons of Time” showcase, featuring notable timepieces by F.P. Journe and De Bethune in their most recent traveling exhibition.
Beginning on September 24, the exhibition will travel to cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok, and Hong Kong, showcasing an array of extraordinary watches. Some of these watches were part of The 1916 Company’s earlier “GENERATIONS: A Timeline of F.P. Journe” exhibition in 2023. These include the pre-subscription Chronomètre à Résonance, the 30 Years Anniversary Tourbillon T30, a Ruthenium set, and numerous examples of F.P. Journe’s timepieces.
Additionally, you’ll find an array of new creations by De Bethune at the exhibition, ranging from designs inspired by their Historical Collection with 13 references dating back in history, to recently launched models like the DB28xs Steel Wheels and DB28xs Aérolite that are now up for display or purchase.
Each stop will provide its very own program tailored for local collectors, enthusiasts, journalists and friends. Meanwhile, the exhibition ensures a walk-in experience that’s open to all.
The “Icons of Time” exhibition is set to be displayed in Beijing from September 24th to 25th, followed by Shanghai from September 30th to October 1st, then Bangkok from October 17th to 18th, and concluding in Hong Kong from October 22nd to 25th.
