The much-anticipated comeback of Kobe Bryant’s last adidas signature shoe is here. Originally known as the Kobe 2, it’s now called the adidas Crazy 2 and will debut in a striking “Silver Metallic” color scheme. This sneaker, one of the most divisive basketball shoes from the early 2000s, is making a resurgence.

Introduced in 2001, the Kobe 2 shoe was influenced by the Audi TT Roadster’s sleek, modern design, setting it apart from typical basketball shoes. Yet, its substantial profile led Kobe Bryant to switch from adidas to Nike, where he established an iconic signature sneaker collection that would become legendary in sports history.

Although it initially received a mixed response upon release, the Crazy 2’s daring design has seamlessly matched the current Y2K-inspired sneaker styles. The “Silver Metallic” version features a glossy synthetic leather upper accentuated by sleek black details, while its distinctive large midsole with grooves remains untouched, providing a blend of style and functionality. The classic three stripes are discretely incorporated into the outsole design, maintaining adidas’ traditional identity.

One significant shift involves the product identification – since Kobe’s estate is no longer associated with adidas, the shoe has been formally renamed as the Crazy 2, aligning with adidas’ naming convention for sneakers from Kobe’s era.
