As a seasoned gamer and sneakerhead with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming Air Jordan 9 Golf “UNC” is a must-have for any serious collector. Having grown up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I have a soft spot for anything UNC related, so this pair hits close to home.

When a UNC-themed version of a Jordan shoe design becomes available, it’s typically highly sought after. However, when Michael Jordan gave an entire golf team at his college a special edition Air Jordan 9 Golf shoes in April, there was uncertainty about whether the general public would have access to them. Among the gifts were a blue and white stand bag, gloves, and a golf glove; however, the Air Jordan 9 Golf shoe was the most coveted item. Fortunately for golf sneaker fans, it appears that they will be able to purchase a pair if they wish.

Much like the AJ1 Low Golf “University Blue” released in 2022 featuring a straightforward two-tone blue/white design, the AJ9 incorporates powder blue on its midsole, heel highlights, and sock liner. From a distance, the upper appears unified, but upon closer inspection, it’s made of a blend of soft suede and smooth leather, enveloping the foot for a waterproof fit.

Initially designed as presents for Division 1 athletes at the University of North Carolina, these AJ9 G “UNC” shoes are undeniably constructed for top-notch performance on the golf course. Equipped with a white outsole featuring seven detachable Champs spikes, and an added leather strip at the back for improved stability, they’re perfect for enthusiasts. The release date is set for August 12th at Nike, where you can purchase them for $230 USD.
