Amazon‘s Prime Video is now broadcasting “The Apprentice”, a reality television series that likely contributed to Donald Trump’s rise towards the presidency.
Starting March 10, every Monday, a total of seven seasons of the reality show “The Apprentice,” specifically those without celebrity participants featuring Donald Trump, will be released on streaming platform Prime Video. However, it’s important to note that this program will only be accessible to subscribers residing in the United States.
It’s been noted that Amazon has chosen not to disclose details about any potential payment to the president related to his role in the streaming agreement for The Apprentice. Given Trump’s position as an executive producer of the show, it is reasonable to assume he will receive some form of compensation.
After reportedly spending $40 million to acquire the rights for a documentary featuring Melania Trump, Amazon’s Prime Video has opted to stream the show “The Apprentice”. Coincidentally, this series, which presents a less favorable account of Donald Trump’s rise, is already available for rental or purchase on Prime Video.
Originally created by Mark Burnett, “The Apprentice” debuted on NBC in 2004 and swiftly became a massive success during its first season, consistently attracting over 20 million viewers and securing a top-10 spot for the 2003-04 television season. However, the following two seasons continued to rank within the top 20 shows. Unfortunately, subsequent seasons experienced a decline in popularity, with the final non-celebrity edition in 2010 averaging around 4.7 million viewers.
The show has been integrated into Amazon MGM Studios’ MGM Alternative, a division that acquired Burnett’s production company back in 2014.
In a statement, Burnett declared that ‘The Apprentice’ is one of the best TV shows I have ever created. The captivating screen persona of President Donald J. Trump played a significant role in its success. Now, thanks to Amazon Prime Video, a fresh audience can enjoy a new season every Monday.
Trump himself expressed, “I’m eager to catch the show again. It brings back wonderful recollections and lots of enjoyment, but more significantly, it was an educational journey for everyone involved.
