As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of SYFY’s The Ark, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the latest developments in “Kill or Be Killed,” where Captain Sharon Garnet, portrayed brilliantly by Christie Burke, is faced with some challenging decisions on the Ark One.

In the newest episode of SYFY’s show “The Ark,” titled “Kill or Be Killed,” Captain Sharon Garnet, played by Christie Burke, faces challenging leadership tasks on board the Ark One to quell unrest among the crew as they work towards getting the spaceship functional.

Specifically, Garnet has put Kelly Fowler (previously referred to as Samantha Glassner) under house arrest on the spaceship. This could potentially provide time for the two ladies to discover shared interests.

During our latest interview with SYFY Wire, Burke shared some intriguing hints about the developing relationship between her character and Fowler, the impending loss of Garnet’s faith in someone, and the thrilling journey that Season 2 has in store for us.

Since Kelly is now under Garnet’s care, Burke shared an exciting piece of news with me: their close proximity will pave the way for a shared understanding between them to flourish.

“To me, the bond between Kelly and Garnet is captivating,” Burke shared with SYFY WIRE. “It’s about a seasoned woman providing guidance and care for a younger one. I can relate as I have a similar connection with Samantha Glassner. She may be younger than me, but I feel the strong urge to shield her. Her acting skills are truly remarkable.”

Kelly recalls for Garnet the existence of her cloned sister, bringing to mind their previous bond. This sibling wasn’t malevolent by nature but was raised to be so, abandoning her and leaving her with a deep sense of empathy. As a result, Garnet possesses an extraordinary ability: she refuses to give up on anyone. At times, this strength can also serve as a vulnerability, as she persistently places faith in others based on her belief in humanity’s inherent goodness.

Burke playfully teased, “‘Really now,’ he quipped, ‘is it so hard to believe in Evelyn Maddox or Kelly this time? Why all the mistrust?'”

Despite Burke’s skepticism, Garnet’s conviction may prove effective in several situations this season. Her strong belief in others can be so persuasive that they begin to believe it themselves. For instance, we observe Lt. Lane and Kelly adopting such beliefs about themselves. Even self-centered Trust, who seems unlikely to change, is not an exception. Garnet’s unwavering acceptance of his selfishness resonates with him, making him consider others as well.

Is There an Evolved Captain Garnet Coming Soon on The Ark?

In an interview, Burke shared insights on what viewers can anticipate from Garnet’s development this season. He mentioned that Garnet is set for a shift in mood and revealed, “Audiences can expect a more lighthearted side of Garnet. She builds profound connections, such as with Felix Strickland, Kelly, Trust, and Brice. Prepare for some entertaining moments, as we explore two distinct aspects of Garnet.”

Burke went on to express his anticipation for the finale of Season 2, questioning, “Who is Garnet when she isn’t leading a team? Essentially, what does Garnet desire for herself? We have seen various aspects of her character, but we are yet to discover her personal wants. She was raised with the sole purpose of carrying out this duty.”

In her own words to the crowds, she expressed her excitement for Episode 10 of Season 2, stating, “Prepare yourselves for the mind-blowing, utterly insane revelations that unfold in the second half of this season.”
