- Beautiful puzzles, each having information on what you see
- Different chapters, featuring different parts of the world
- Well-written descriptions on what you see
The Art of Fauna represents a conventional mobile-based jigsaw puzzle experience, where you’re tasked with reconstructing large, visually captivating images fragmented into puzzle pieces. Initially, all the pieces are rectangular and uniform in size, eliminating any shape-related assistance for solving the puzzle. The intrigue lies in appreciating the beautiful imagery itself.
Each puzzle showcases an animal in its unique artwork. Ranging from intricate details to more spacious environments, they all are visually captivating. As you fit the pieces together, they gradually assemble, often resulting in a large piece that can be quite tricky to maneuver. The screen may seem cramped at times, necessitating you to create space for larger pieces and build around them.
If you are really struggling with the art side, you can also tap a button to flip all of the pieces to the words side, where you can see the dissected information about what you are putting together, and move that together instead. I found this to be far more challenging than the picture side, but I guess it might be fun for some. There is another button that allows you to see the full picture that you are finishing, but I often found I didn’t need that.
In “The Art of Fauna,” there’s no pressure or time limits for solving the puzzles. Instead, you can relax with some soothing animal and bird sounds playing through your headphones while you leisurely assemble your picture. Upon completion, you’ll find a wealth of information about the creature you’ve assembled, broadening your knowledge before moving on to the next puzzle.
The game’s idea might be straightforward, yet its realization is truly exceptional. With more than a hundred stages to conquer, you’ll find yourself immersed for hours, effortlessly constructing captivating miniature universes.
