‘The Batman’ Sequel Moves to 2027 as Alejandro González Iñárritu and Tom Cruise Take Its Fall 2026 Date

As a movie buff with decades of experience under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming fall 2026 movie season! The collaboration between Alejandro González Iñárritu and Tom Cruise is a match made in cinematic heaven, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting their untitled feature. It’s always a treat to see two masters of their craft join forces.

Alejandro González Iñárritu and Tom Cruise are set to premiere their unnamed film during the autumn of 2026. The studio, Warner Bros., has confirmed that the movie will be released on October 2, 2026.

Previously scheduled for the date that Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” sequel had been occupying, which remains unnamed at present, will now be filled by a different film as of October 1, 2027. Production on this movie is projected to commence during the third quarter of 2025.

In the meantime, the release dates for “The Batman” actor Robert Pattinson’s and Bong Joon-ho’s film “Mickey 17” are being changed with Ryan Coogler’s and Michael B. Jordan’s “Sinners”. As a result, “Mickey 17” will now premiere on March 7, 2025, while “Sinners” will debut on April 18, 2025. (Paraphrased)

More to come.
