In the upcoming fourth season of FX’s “The Bear,” there are hints that a romantic connection may develop between two characters, a development I’ve been eagerly anticipating since season 2. While Carmy and Claire remain at the heart of the show’s ongoing “will they, won’t they” dynamic, it seems no main characters have entered into a relationship since the series debuted in 2022.

Throughout The Bear’s first four seasons, there seems to have been a chance for romance among some of the principal and secondary characters. There appears to be a flicker of something special between Sydney and Luca, which was sparked in season 3 and seemed to grow stronger in season 4. Their paths crossed during Richie’s stint at Andrea Terry’s (portrayed by Olivia Colman) restaurant in season 2, leading to one of the most memorable episodes in The Bear’s history titled “Forks.

With Jessica now permanently employed at The Bear during its fourth season, the budding relationship between her and Richie may unfold in season 5. This would mark an unprecedented instance of two restaurant employees dating, among several possible romantic pairings, this one appears to be the strongest contender.

Fans had hoped for a romantic connection between Sydney and Carmy, but given where the storyline stands now, it seems highly unlikely due to Carmy moving on to a new phase of his life, which involves him distancing himself from the restaurant and leaving Sydney to deal with matters on his own.
