In an interview with TV Insider beforehand, she shared, “Our show covers many aspects, so it wasn’t a question of if Sheldon and Amy would have sex. Yet, this is indeed a significant moment, leaving Amy in disbelief.”
Parsons had a hard time filming another The Big Bang Theory sex scene
Sheldon and Amy from “The Big Bang Theory” don’t have frequent sex scenes due to their limited encounters being mainly on Amy’s birthday. Yet, throughout the show’s duration, they have experienced numerous tender and bodily interactions. One memorable scene is found in Season 6, Episode 10, titled “The Fish Guts Displacement,” where Sheldon playfully spanks his girlfriend.
In the given episode, Amy is initially unwell, but once she recovers, she feigns sickness for the pleasure of having Sheldon attend to her needs. However, when Sheldon discovers the deception, he proposes discipline in response – intriguing Amy with the suggestion of a spanking. Filming this scene proved challenging for Jim Parsons due to its comedic nature.
During an interview with The Paley Center for Media, he confessed, “I must admit, it was among the most challenging things I’ve had to do due to finding it incredibly amusing.” In another interview on “Conan,” Parsons disclosed, “We needed to shoot numerous takes because of my frequent bouts of laughter, an unusual occurrence for me.” Despite his lack of preparation, the scene’s execution was so convincing that fans remained oblivious. Since then, it has been one of many beloved Shamy moments.
