As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in the entertainment industry, I must say that my recent encounter with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hansal Mehta’s collaboration on “The Buckingham Murders” has left me thoroughly impressed. Having worked with numerous stars over the years, I can confidently assert that Kareena is one of the most professional actors I have come across.
On September 13, 2024, Kareena Kapoor’s eagerly anticipated film, “The Buckingham Murders,” premiered in cinemas. In this new release, Kareena takes on the character of Jasmeet Bhamra, a British-Indian detective. Not only does she star in the movie, but Kareena is also one of its producers, joining forces with Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor for this crime thriller. Recently, director Hansal Mehta, who oversaw Kareena’s role, commended her for being a non-demanding actress during filming.
In a recent conversation with India Today, filmmaker Hansal Mehta expressed that Kareena Kapoor Khan was one of the most prominent actors he’s had the pleasure of working alongside during their collaboration on The Buckingham Murders.
Hansal highlighted that Kareena Kapoor consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism while working on set. He noted that she never appeared diva-like or prone to tantrums, but instead fully committed herself to the film and her character. Her dedication and work ethic were truly remarkable, as evidenced by her consistent presence on set to improve scenes and even providing guidance to other actors during their performances.
The director of Dus Kahaaniyaan clarified that the filming of The Buckingham Murders wasn’t solely about Kareena. He praised her as a “wonderful dream” to collaborate with, hinting at potential past difficulties. Reflecting on his time on The Buckingham Murders set, the director considered it one of the smoothest and most beautiful shoots in his 30-year career.
Lately, during an interview with MidDay, filmmaker Hansal Mehta expressed his plans for a prequel to The Buckingham Murders. He mentioned that this new project would serve as an origin story for the character Kareena, portraying her transformation into Jasmeet Bhamra and revealing how she evolved into the person we know today.
Apart from Kareena Kapoor Khan, the cast of Hansal Mehta’s film, The Buckingham Murders, includes Allen Keith, Ash Tandon, and Ranveer Brar in significant parts. This crime thriller was exhibited at the 67th BFI London Film Festival on October 14, 2023, and has since been released a year later. Notably, Hansal Mehta is also known for directing films such as Shahid, Dus Kahaniyaan, Aligarh, Omerta, Citylights, Chhalaang, among others.
