The CW Network Taps Michael Perman to Lead Sports Efforts

The CW Network has named Michael Perman as senior vp, sports.

As a devoted sports enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I, Perman, a seasoned executive previously with NBC Sports, am now stepping into the role overseeing programming and media rights at CW Sports. This dynamic platform already houses the action-packed WWE NXT and the NASCAR Xfinity Series – making it an exciting space for sports fans like myself!

Now under the ownership of Nexstar Media Group, The CW is persistently reorganizing its programming portfolio, focusing more on sports such as college football and basketball. Mark Perman has been appointed for this role, who will work directly with Brad Schwartz, President of The CW Network, and be stationed in New York City.

I’m excited to bring top-quality sports content to The CW’s widely accessible TV and digital channels, while also building lasting connections within the sports industry. Working together, we aim to keep improving The CW into a leading spot for sports enthusiasts, providing exciting live sports events and captivating programming,” Perman expressed in a statement.

At NBC Sports Group, Perman held the position of Vice President of Programming for both NBC and NBCSN. Prior to the merge of Comcast and NBC Universal, he served as Director of Scheduling for the cable sports channel owned by Comcast.

With our sports broadcast schedule expanding rapidly, we’re thrilled to welcome Mike Perman, a seasoned professional, to our team of industry experts, producers, and on-air personalities who are driving the change that’s making The CW an essential stop for live sporting action,” Schwartz expressed in his statement.

CW Sports also offers sports programming like ACC, Pac12, Grand Slam Track and Inside The NFL.
