According to Variety, The Drew Barrymore Show has been extended for a sixth season, extending its run through the 2025-2026 season. This announcement precedes its fifth season premiere on September 9. Drew Barrymore will continue her second act in Hollywood during this new season. Moreover, the show will benefit from time period enhancements in seven of the top 20 markets where it airs, including the 9:00 AM slot following CBS Mornings in New York, Dallas, and Boston. In the face of adversity, The Drew Barrymore Show managed to carve out a path towards success, even though it started off on a bumpy note due to circumstances beyond its control. Launched during the pandemic, when live studio audiences were prohibited due to COVID-19 restrictions, this talk show took an innovative approach. Audiences were brought in virtually through a platform called Audience From Anywhere, and their images were displayed on a screen behind Barrymore to create a virtual audience experience. At that time, guests had the option of appearing either virtually or in person with Barrymore, but they had to maintain social distancing by sitting opposite the host.
