- Vampire Survivors is finally paying homage to one of its biggest influences
- The Ode to Castlevania DLC is live (or rolling out) right now
- It features a huge variety of weapons, characters, music, and enemies from the hit Castlevania series
As a seasoned gamer who’s grown up with the Castlevania series, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia and excitement as Vampire Survivors unveils its Ode to Castlevania DLC. This isn’t just another expansion; it’s a love letter to one of gaming’s most iconic vampire-slaying franchises.
This Halloween also marks the arrival of a new DLC for Poncle’s popular bullet-filled game Vampire Survivors. However, this isn’t an ordinary expansion; it’s a tribute to one of their significant inspirations, and they’ve pulled out all the stops to make it fittingly grand. In other words, the Ode to Castlevania DLC is now available across all platforms, brimming with content inspired by Konami’s iconic vampire-slaying series.
Vampire Survivors often pays homage to Castlevania in various ways. For instance, the Belpaese family’s duty to combat nighttime creatures and their use of musical stings resemble elements from Castlevania. Additionally, enemies and the mysterious meals that restore HP are reminiscent of the series. In essence, there’s a playful nod to their classic side-scrolling predecessor throughout Vampire Survivors.
Indeed, it’s quite fitting that Vampire Survivors has crafted an expansive DLC tribute to the authentic Castlevania series. This latest addition brings hordes of enemies, legendary characters such as Simon Belmont and Alucard, weapons, music, and more into play. If you’re eager to immerse yourself in this Ode to Castlevania, it’s available right now for Vampire Survivors on iOS, Android, PC, and console platforms!
Goddamn Draculas
Indeed, it appears that Poncle might have made an error in their latest project. This is because, based on Dracula’s depiction in the trailer, the game seems to genuinely feature real vampires! Given the developer’s history, however, I wouldn’t be shocked if Dracula turned out to be a clone, disguise, or some other twist to continue their humorous approach.
