The alternate 1990s setting, coupled with the robot uprising backdrop, is a captivating blend of nostalgia and innovation that I can’t wait to see unfold on screen.
In the initial trailer, the stars of Stranger Things and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are at the helm for The Electric State, a new Netflix production by The Russo Brothers. In a ’90s alternative reality where robots have rebelled, The Electric State story unfolds. An orphaned teenager embarks on a journey across the American West, accompanied by a comics-style robot, a smuggler, and his accomplice, in their shared quest to find her missing brother.
Under the direction of Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, The Electric State boasts an impressive ensemble of supporting actors, including Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, alongside Giancarlo Esposito and Stanley Tucci. Notable voices bring to life some of the film’s vibrant characters, with stars like Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo, and Alan Tudyk lending their talents.
