As a dedicated Bachelor Nation fan with years of investing my emotions into these reality shows, I am beyond thrilled for Joan Vassos’ upcoming season of The Golden Bachelorette. Last year’s The Golden Bachelor left an indelible mark on me, and I’m particularly excited about one aspect that’s making a comeback – the involvement of contestants’ parents.
Heed this warning: The following tale reveals a tiny hint about Joan Vassos’ forthcoming season of The Golden Bachelorette.
Last year, “The Golden Bachelor” caused a sensation around the globe, drawing in millions of viewers as they watched Gerry Turner find love. In the coming months, Joan Vassos will take center stage in “The Golden Bachelorette,” set to air on TV schedules in 2024. Similar to its predecessor, this spinoff is sure to keep us entertained. However, what I’m particularly looking forward to seeing again is a familiar element from Gerry’s season – the presence of a parent among the potential suitors. This time around, it seems that this aspect could play a significant role in the storyline.
Kelsey Anderson’s Dad Mark Will Appear On The Golden Bachelorette
Affirmatively, it appears that one recognizable figure will emerge from the limos to greet Joan Vassos in September. According to Reality Steve’s latest podcast episode on “Daily Roundup,” Mark Anderson, who is the father of Kelsey from The Bachelor Season 27, has been announced as a contestant for The Golden Bachelorette’s debut season.
As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: During Joey Graziadei’s “After the Final Rose” segment, host Jesse Palmer hinted that we might see Mark again, but it wasn’t clear if he meant Joan’s season or the next Bachelor. Regardless, Kelsey Anderson seemed to have moved past her understandable shock at the idea of so many people being attracted to her 57-year-old father.
Before Mark Anderson was introduced to Bachelor Nation, Kelsey shared with Joey Graziadei how her father had supported her and her four siblings after their mother passed away from breast cancer in 2018. This heartfelt story left a deep impression on viewers, making Mark an instant favorite. True to form, during the Hometown date, Mark proved himself to be as wonderful as anticipated, further endearing him to fans and increasing the likelihood of his appearance on one or even both of the upcoming Bachelor spinoffs.
Will Mark Anderson Be A Major Story On Joan Vassos Season?
I’m really excited about the plan to connect the “Golden” series with the younger ABC dating shows by introducing the parents. Following this pattern, Joan Vassos’ season is similar to “The Golden Bachelor” in this aspect, as Gerry Turner’s season included Patty James – Matt James’ mother from Season 26. However, some fans were disappointed when Patty was eliminated so early on. Could Mark Anderson play a bigger role in Joan’s season?
Based on Reality Steve’s livestream, Mark Anderson apparently goes on a one-on-one date with Joan Vassos during the season, indicating that he lasts longer than Patty James who didn’t make it past the first few episodes. So, Mark is trending in the right direction towards staying in the competition for a longer duration.
Similar to how ABC revives past contestants to star in their reality dating shows, I believe introducing single parents as leads for the “Golden” shows would attract even more viewers. I’m excitedly looking forward to witnessing the day when we see a Hometown visit from former stars of The Bachelor/Bachelorette. Could Mark Anderson introduce Joan Vassos to Kelsey and Joey? We’ll find out soon enough.
I’m so excited for “The Golden Bachelorette” to make its debut! This new show will be premiering at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 18, exclusively on ABC as part of their fall lineup. And if you miss the live airing, don’t worry – with a Hulu subscription, you can stream it the very next day. In the meantime, keep an eye out for Jenn Tran on “The Bachelorette,” which airs every Monday at 8 p.m. ET. Can’t wait to see what unfolds!
