When does The Hunting Party Season 2 return?

The Hunting Party Season 2 premieres on NBC this fall. Keep an eye on NBC Insider for more details.

What is The Hunting Party about?

As a gripped gamer, I’d put it like this: “I find myself on the hunt for a tight-knit squad of investigators, tasked with chasing down and apprehending the deadliest criminals our nation has ever known. These ruthless fugitives have managed to break free from a clandestine maximum-security prison that’s supposedly non-existent.

What happened in The Hunting Party Season 1?

Initially in the series, Bex (Melissa Roxburgh) found herself drifting aimlessly following her departure from her coveted FBI position. However, she was later enticed by a confidential mission offering her an opportunity to retrieve and re-imprison an undisclosed number of serial killers who had managed to escape from a secluded facility in Wyoming known as “The Pit”.

She teamed up with CIA agent Jacob Hassani (Patrick Sabongui), a previous Pit warden and ex-lover Oliver Odell (Nick Wechsler), Army Intelligence officer Jennifer Morales (Sara Garcia), and prison guard Shane Florence (Josh McKenzie) each week to travel across the nation, aiming to apprehend another chilling murderer.

The season concluded mysteriously, as the team discovered another enigmatic government secret, while the fate of one team member hung in the balance.

Melissa Roxburgh on The Hunting Party‘s big cliffhangers

Roxburgh shared with NBC Insider before the Season 1 finale that they left us hanging on some intriguing plotlines, making me eager for Season 2. Additionally, they delved into the personal lives of the characters, such as the mystery surrounding Shane’s mother and the revelation about Hassani’s family life. At the start of the season, we saw that Hassani had a toy, indicating he has children. We initially thought he was married, but then we discovered his wife had passed away. This new information adds depth to Hassani’s character, and I believe Bex feels more connected to him now because of it.

Afterward, it becomes clear where Odell/Bex’s relationship is headed, and it leaves us curious about what’s going on between them. As we move into Season 2, I am eager to explore those elements further. Now that the foundation of the show has been laid and our storytelling framework established, I look forward to delving deeper into their personal narratives.

The second season of “The Hunting Party” will debut on NBC this autumn. Meanwhile, you can catch up with Season 1 by streaming it on Peacock.
