The MING 37.02 Minimalist Timepiece Debuts a Polar White Lume

As a seasoned gamer of timepieces, with a collection that spans continents and eras, I’ve come to appreciate the rare and innovative. The unveiling of MING’s 37.02 Minimalist has undeniably left an indelible mark on my watch-loving heart.

MING’s recent reveal signifies a major achievement for the company. The introduction of the 37.02 Minimalist is significant because it’s the first timepiece that has been entirely designed, engineered, and managed by Horologer Ming SA, which is the brand’s newly established Swiss entity.

MING watches are renowned for their unique glow and creative dials, but they have traditionally been hard to get hold of because of their scarce production numbers. A significant factor contributing to this scarcity was primarily the challenges encountered when collaborating with outside vendors.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled about MING’s recent expansion into La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. This move not only strengthens their grip on the supply chain but also offers more creative and production space for their dedicated teams. The new 37.02 Minimalist reference is a testament to this transformation, born right here in this innovative environment.

Homegrown and meticulously designed, the latest model introduces a unique white glow, thanks to MING’s own MING Polar WHITE – an innovative luminescent material that emits true white light. This development sets MING apart, as most watch lumes have traditionally been colored, making this self-illuminating creation by MING genuinely trailblazing.

38 millimeters in diameter, this watch boasts a stainless steel construction, blending both polished and brushed finishes. Beneath its curved glass surface rests a dial made of sapphire crystal, embedded with MING Polar White luminous markers. This is further enhanced by hands coated with Super-LumiNova X1, emitting a blue glow that boosts the watch’s visual appeal and ease of reading in dim light conditions.

This timepiece operates with the Sellita SW300.M1 self-winding mechanism inside it. Its interior features anthracite skeletonized bridges, a matte anthracite base, an open rotor, and a power reserve of approximately 45 hours. The minimalist design of the 37.02 model is available for purchase at around 3,250 Swiss Francs (approximately $3,744 USD) on the brand’s official website.
