The Mizuno Wave Rider Beta Receives Indigo Treatment From BUAISOU

As a long-time fan of both Mizuno and Japanese craftsmanship, I am absolutely thrilled about this beautiful collaboration between Mizuno and BUAISOU. The combination of their shared Japanese roots and deep connection to the color blue has resulted in a truly unique and stunning sneaker.

As a fan, I’m excited to share that I’ve discovered the Mizuno Wave Rider Beta Dyed by BUAISOU in a stunning Mugen Blue and White colorway! With the SKU D1GD244101, this shoe boasts an impressive £260 GBP price tag (around $335 USD). If you’re in the market for a new pair, you can grab them right now from Mizuno. Enjoy your shopping experience!

Mizuno teamed up with BUAISOU, a Japanese group known for their expertise in indigo farming and dyeing, for a collaboration on the Wave Rider Beta sneaker. Sharing Japanese heritage and a strong affinity for the color blue, this partnership symbolizes the beautiful intersection of tradition, skill, and modernity.

As a textile designer with years of experience in traditional Japanese dyeing techniques, I have had the privilege of working with various methods to create unique and visually striking patterns. One project that stands out in my memory is the collaboration I undertook with Mizuno for their limited-edition sneaker line.

The upper, soles, and lining are colored black and have a semi-glossy texture. In contrast, the shoelaces retain their natural color and resemble authentic Japanese braids.

The collaboration between BUAISOU and Mizuno on the Wave Rider Beta sneaker is a limited-edition release. You can purchase it from Mizuno’s online shop, but unfortunately, it’s not available in North America at this time.
