The New Piaget Polo Is Fitted With a Flying Tourbillon and Moonphase Indicator

Ever since its introduction in 1979, the Piaget Polo watch has stood as a shining symbol in the realm of watchmaking, embodying the blend of sportiness and elegance in its entirely gold design. Over the years, this model has undergone significant transformations, showcasing a remarkable skeleton movement in 2021 and an ultra-thin perpetual calendar in 2023. For the year 2025, the watch is set to make another groundbreaking stride in watchmaking innovation by integrating a flying tourbillon with an astronomical moonphase display, all while maintaining Piaget’s distinctive blue hue.

The Piaget Polo Flying Tourbillon Moonphase isn’t merely an eye-catching design; it’s also a technical masterpiece. Standing at 9.8 mm thick, it operates on the slender 642P in-house movement that is only 4 mm thin. This watch sports a 44 mm titanium case with both polished and brushed finishes. The bezel and crown insert are coated with blue PVD, complementing the dial and distinctive gadroons for a harmonious look.

Building upon its rich history of crafting elaborate movements, Piaget has unveiled a fresh take on their 600P model – the self-winding 642P. Retaining the slim profile and the soaring tourbillon with an exquisitely designed cage, it showcases the brand’s commitment to mechanical artistry. The integrated moonphase mechanism underscores Piaget’s technical prowess. Due to the slightly off-kilter rotations of Earth and its moon, their cycles may drift apart, but Piaget’s mastery ensures that a full day’s discrepancy between the watch display and the real night sky would only occur after 122 years. This minor discrepancy can be effortlessly rectified using the moon phase corrector positioned at 9 o’clock.

According to the watch’s color palette, the included rubber band comes in a coordinating blue shade and can be switched out. Additionally, another crocodile-textured leather band is offered in a complementary color scheme. For further details, check out Piaget’s official site.
