As a seasoned gamer with an eye for sneakers and a deep-rooted respect for iconic designs, I must say that the upcoming 30th anniversary edition of the Air Max 95 by Nike has me thoroughly excited! The “Grey Gradient” colorway is a masterful nod to the shoe’s intricate design, showcasing an elegant gradient colorblocking scheme that exudes class and sophistication without resorting to flashy colors.

2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Nike’s famous Air Max 95, and to celebrate, they will release a minimalist “Grey Gradient” colorway as part of the festivities. This design plays with the shoe’s upper paneling inspired by anatomy, creating a gradient colorblocking effect using different shades of grey and black that transition from light to dark. Essentially, it maintains a clean, timeless aesthetic while showcasing subtle design intricacies without relying on loud or striking colors.

The layer near the sole is light gray, but it gets progressively darker to slate and steel shades as you move up towards the eyestays. Eventually, you’ll find a black suede top overlay and mudguard just beneath the mesh toe box. Other notable details are white eyestays, gray/white/black tongue tags, a small white Swoosh near the heel, a cloudy midsole with visible Air cushioning units, and a white emblem on the tongue.

Stepping into its 40th year, I’ve been observing a renewed appreciation for the Air Max 95, which seems to be gaining traction again among the masses.
