Jenna Fischer is opening up more about her battle with breast cancer.

On a Monday, the leading actress from “Office” spoke to Hoda Kotb on “Today” and disclosed that Christina Applegate was among the initial individuals she contacted for assistance following her diagnosis.

In simpler terms, “I phoned her, and she picked up. She asked, ‘Which one are you referring to?’ To which I replied, ‘It’s breast cancer.’ She then responded with a strong expletive, implying she had suspected it.

Applegate and Fischer shared a connection through their mutual experience with breast cancer, as Applegate was diagnosed in 2008. When Applegate reacted in a brash manner, Fischer wasn’t taken aback, instead commenting, “She’s feisty. That one talks with a bit of spice. I admire her for it,” Fischer expressed.

After their discussion, Applegate introduced her to other survivors. Furthermore, Fischer mentioned that they experienced their respective journeys as a shared endeavor.

Earlier this month, Fischer disclosed that she had been quietly battling an “advanced type” of breast cancer. The actress revealed that during a routine mammogram, she was diagnosed with Stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer. Her course of treatment involved surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy; fortunately, she has since shared the good news that she is now cancer-free.

On Today’s show, Fischer made her first on-camera interview appearance with a short hairstyle, a change that has come about following her treatment.

When I learned I needed chemotherapy, my initial thought was, ‘I don’t want to experience nausea and I don’t want to lose my hair,'” she expressed.

Fischer went on to explain, ‘I didn’t vomit, but I did experience hair loss.’ This topic is quite popular among women we know. I spent a lot of time online searching about hair and hair images, trying to imagine how it would look. It’s amusing that the way I lost my hair wasn’t evenly distributed.

At first, I used wigs to hide my health situation, but now I’m stepping out, ready to flaunt my short haircut and bid farewell to those wigs.

Besides this, Fischer mentioned that her kids, aged 10 and 13, showed an impressive sense of wit when they first noticed their mother’s fresh hairstyle.
