’The Penguin’ Comic-Con Experience Evacuated Due to Fire

As a dedicated fan of “The Penguin” and an avid attendee of San Diego Comic-Con for years, I was beyond excited to finally experience the immersive Iceberg Lounge installation at this year’s event. The anticipation built up as I waited in line to enter the Bloom Nightclub where the experience was located.

On Friday at San Diego Comic-Con, the area where fans of The Penguin were gathered had to be emptied due to a fire that supposedly started inside the building.

In videos captured by The Hollywood Reporter team, a substantial number of attendees were exiting the Bloom Nightclub, the venue for the event, and congregating on the street nearby. Fire departments and law enforcement personnel were also present in the vicinity.

At this immersive event, HBO showcased their new series “The Penguin,” led by Colin Farrell. Guests were treated to a lifelike replica of Gotham’s renowned Iceberg Lounge, taken straight from the 2022 movie “The Batman” and the upcoming program.

The evacuation occurs just before HBO’s grand Hall H presentation for their new show, which is a spin-off based on “The Batman,” set to take place within the next 24 hours.

No injuries or additional information surrounding the fire has been released at this point.

THR has reached out to HBO for comment.

More to come.
