As a seasoned gamer with a heart full of nostalgia for the golden age of mobile gaming, I can’t help but get a twinkle in my eye every time the Pocket Gamer Awards roll around. Autumn is like a sweet, crisp whisper that winter is on its way, and with it comes the annual celebration of the best games our beloved handheld devices have to offer.
As autumn swiftly approaches, it signals that winter isn’t far behind. This transition carries diverse connotations for different individuals. For some, it’s a time to rejoice in Christmas celebrations, while others eagerly anticipate Halloween, Thanksgiving, or other holidays yet to be named by me at this moment. Personally, I appreciate the drop in temperature. Yet, there’s another exciting event to look forward to as we near the end of the year – The Pocket Gamer Awards 2024!
Indeed, I was referring to the fact that we are once more organizing our annual PGAs, an event designed to showcase the newest and most outstanding achievements in mobile gaming. Moreover, we understand that gaming doesn’t adhere to a strict 365-day schedule. Therefore, in addition to recognizing this year’s games, we will also acknowledge some titles that continue to be relevant in 2024. Furthermore, we’ll provide a sneak peek into future trends, as it’s enjoyable to anticipate what’s coming next.
At present, things haven’t started moving just yet, but we’ll be sharing updates about it shortly. In the meantime, we wanted to share some news, create a little excitement, and encourage you to start brainstorming. The reason for this is that during our awards ceremony, the winners will actually be selected by you, our valued readers! So, consider what has stood out to you in various genres this year, so you’re prepared when nominations are announced.
That phase of the awards will run for a month, allowing plenty of time for everyone to get their picks in. After that, we’ll open up voting, which, again, runs for a month. We’re big fans of four-week periods here at Pocket Gamer. During that window, you can rally your pals and other fans of your favourite games to vote. Likewise, any developers reading this, please encourage players to throw a vote your game’s way.
