The Real Reason Stars Are Suddenly Targeting Trump

Selena Gomez didn’t shed tears over the death of Laken Riley, at least not on social media.

She didn’t offer support to Aurora, Colorado residents who were under threat from groups of Venezuelan gang members in their neighborhood either.

Actress Emilia Perez expressed tears on her Instagram about President Donald Trump’s tough stance on illegal immigration that focuses on criminal offenders.

She’s not the only one making a mark in politics; there are other vocal celebrities who share this interest, and interestingly enough, they are all connected with movies that have been nominated for Oscars.

Weird, as Rachel Zegler might say.

Ariana Grande, a notable performer from the musical “Wicked” and nominated for Best Supporting Actress, spoke out against Trump’s assertion that there are only two sexes. She endorsed a post by Advocates for Trans Equality, which she shared with her 376 million followers on her social media platforms.

Today poses challenges for our community, as the new government has pledged actions that could harm trans individuals’ lives, health, and self-worth. We are preparing for their potentially aggressive policies. Regardless of what unfolds, we will stand together to safeguard one another.

Karla Sofia Gascon, the trans actress from the show “Emila Perez,” who was nominated for Best Actress, spoke out against Donald Trump’s latest policies concerning gender.

“He is shameless…I hope that whatever needs to happen happens to shut everyone up, on both sides.”

In a recent conversation, actor/director Jesse Eisenberg didn’t focus on Trump but instead criticized Elon Musk, a supporter of the MAGA movement, during an interview. The creator of “A Real Pain,” which has been nominated for two Oscars, explained to Bill Maher why he’s recently developed an opposition towards Tech Bro figures.

Instead of pondering why powerful individuals engage in complex, puzzling activities that often disregard privacy and potentially harm vulnerable communities, I find myself questioning their priorities. Why aren’t they dedicating their days to aiding and uplifting those who are already struggling, rather than getting involved in matters that seem unnecessary or harmful? This thought process leads me away from politics and more towards empathy for the marginalized. Essentially, my question is: Why aren’t these influential figures focusing on helping people instead?

The bigger question remains? Why now?

Since Donald Trump’s November 5 election win, there seems to be a noticeable quietness among the stars, and this has sparked concern on mainstream platforms. One might wonder, where is the renewed showbiz opposition (or Hollywood Resistance 2.0)?

In simpler terms, the solution lies in that the particular stars you’re referring to have transitioned into a campaign phase. However, this doesn’t imply they are political candidates. Instead, they’re actively working to garner additional support for their films, which have been nominated for Oscars.

During the March 2 event, political impartiality is likely to be maintained. In contemporary times, celebrities from various creative spheres have reduced their politically charged speeches at award shows. This trend was also noticeable during last year’s Oscars, which were hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, known for his comedic activism.

The votes will all be counted by then.

Presently, it’s crucial to build alliances with like-minded progressives, particularly those responsible for selecting this year’s Academy Award recipients.

Unfortunately, the position she advocated had a condition attached to it. According to the New York Post, Gomez deleted the initial tearful video and subsequently removed a subsequent post justifying her actions.

The famous figure, who publicly pledged to do everything possible to aid undocumented immigrants, failed to uphold her promises as expressed on her own social media posts.
