Back in April 2025, it became known that Neeraj Ghaywan’s movie Homebound would be attending the renowned Cannes Film Festival. This film features Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa in its cast. Lately, Ishaan – who is now focusing on promoting his upcoming show The Royals – has shared some thoughts about making his debut on the Cannes red carpet.

The 78th Cannes Film Festival is set for May 13 to 24, 2025. That’s when Ishaan Khatter and his team from Homebound will be attending this global gathering. In a recent conversation with PTI, Ishaan shared, “This will be my debut on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, and it’s a dream come true that I’ll be there with my own film.

Ishaan went on to heap praises on Neeraj Ghaywan, labeling him as an exceptional filmmaker. “He possesses a strength that few others can claim,” Ishaan stated.

Ishaan continued to share that he had long desired to work with Neeraj, an aspiration sparked by watching Masaan. Therefore, when this collaboration finally came to pass, it felt like a significant milestone for him. Looking back on their initial encounter during Homebound, Ishaan disclosed that he pledged to dedicate his full effort if he found the script appealing.

Previously, following the formal declaration, Ishaan Khatter joyfully shared his feelings on Instagram. His post read: “Such moments are born from dreams. With sincerity, determination, kindness, and honesty at the core, one of the most honored moments in my film career so far.

Neeraj Ghaywan’s second feature film, titled “Homebound,” is set to debut. The initial glimpses of Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor have been unveiled. This production is a collaborative effort by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Marijke deSouza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier are also co-producers. “Homebound” will make its premiere in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival 2025.

Next up for Ishaan Khatter is the OTT series titled “The Royals,” where he embodies Aviraaj Singh, a prince character. He shares the screen with Bhumi Pednekar in this production. Set to debut on Netflix on May 9, 2025, “The Royals” promises a delightful blend of romance and comedy.
