As a passionate gamer here, I’m thrilled to join forces with acting veterans Kyle Howard and Lynsey Bartilson Moore to establish our very own production company! We’ve got an exciting lineup of both scripted and unscripted projects in the pipeline, and I can hardly wait to see them come to life.
The sign bearing the name Hambino Media acknowledges Renna’s memorable appearance in the 1993 sports comedy, The Sandlot.
One of the non-fiction works in progress by the shingle includes an unnamed series being developed with Banks Tarver and Ken Druckerman’s Left/Right productions, along with Major League Baseball (MLB). Additionally, there’s a “Surviving the Hot List” web series in development with Golf Digest, and two more unnamed projects are being planned with Blind Nil, the production company owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines.
Alongside Howard and Moore, Renna is part of a team creating a humorous half-hour series called “The Big CON“, set in the vibrant environment of fan conventions. Ethan Sandler and Adrian Wenner are penning the script, while Victor Nelli will direct. Meanwhile, the Hambino Media group is developing a feature film based on Thomas Tessier’s horror fiction titled “World of Hurt“. Chris L. McKenna is adapting the script for this project. In both instances, Renna would take on the lead role if agreements are finalized.
Renna mentioned that Hambino Media is being constructed as a dynamic creative powerhouse. This means we don’t just create excellent content for other brands, but also develop our own captivating tales that ignite our enthusiasm. Our aim is to inject fresh perspectives into the industry while simultaneously assisting other artists and businesses in narrating their stories using innovative methods.
Howard, known for roles in “Your Family or Mine” and “Royal Pains”, just finished a 10-episode stint in Apple TV+’s sci-fi show “Me“. Meanwhile, Moore, who’s been part of several seasons on “Grounded for Life“, is now serving as the chief operations officer at creative agency Studio III Marketing.
Previously, Renna featured in two films – the horror-mystery production titled “Monster Summer,” alongside Mel Gibson, and the sports drama titled “You Gotta Believe,” which starred Luke Wilson and Greg Kinnear.
The actor has established two ventures in the past, both athletic wear and a youth sports foundation bearing the nickname “The Great Hambino”. Moreover, on February 25th, he is set to publish a book titled “A Little Slugger’s Guide to the Unwritten Rules of Baseball and Life“, which will be released by Penguin Young Readers.
Renna is represented by Griffin Talent, UTA and Persona PR.
