The Shelby GT350R Returns with 830 HP

2025’s Shelby GT350R model, a high-powered street-compatible sports car intended for racing fans, was publicly debuted by Shelby. This unveiling occurred at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The GT350R pays homage to its iconic ancestor from 1965 and will only be produced in a small run of 36 vehicles. It boasts an impressive power output exceeding 830 hp, is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, and features advanced performance enhancements.

The standard Shelby GT350 offers a powerful 810 hp in its supercharged version, but the GT350R takes things to another level by offering unique features that reflect Shelby’s racing legacy. Its lightweight structure boasts a carbon fiber interior tub, optional racing seats and an integrated roll cage. In collaboration with Turn Key Automotive/Motorsports, Shelby created a Trans Am-spec carbon fiber aerodynamic package, adjustable race suspension, ProSystems Alcon racing brakes, and improved chassis performance.

Vince LaViolette, Vice President of Operations at Shelby American, stated that, just as Carroll Shelby had envisioned back in 1965, the Shelby GT350R was specifically designed for dedicated track enthusiasts who enjoy racing on weekends.

Starting mid-2025, the GT350R will make its debut, only in white with an optional racing-style stripe design reminiscent of past models. This vehicle is a tribute to the original competition versions and will be recorded in the official Shelby Registry. The price for the GT350R is yet to be revealed, but it’s expected to be announced shortly. In honor of its history, Shelby has plans to rejoin Trans Am racing in 2026 with a specialized racing model, developed in collaboration with Turn Key Automotive/Motorsports.
