As a seasoned TV enthusiast who’s witnessed more TV marriages than Ross Geller, I must say that the upcoming fall finale of FBI is shaping up to be quite the rollercoaster ride. The return of Clay (Guy Lockard) promises to stir up some old Army-days trouble for OA (Zeeko Zaki), and if the promos are any indication, it seems like Maggie’s suspicions about Clay’s loyalties aren’t unfounded.
Believe it or not, FBI is on the verge of airing its very last episode of the 2024 TV schedule and will be on hiatus until returning in the 2025 TV schedule. The fall finale is set to end the year on an intense note, though, with the return of Clay (Chicago Med‘s Guy Lockard) causing some trouble for OA (Zeeko Zaki). While it remains to be seen if a betrayal will indeed happen as teased by the trailer, Zeeko Zaki spoke with TopMob about working with his fellow Wolf Entertainment actor and what’s rubbing OA the wrong way.
The final fall episode of CBS’ show “FBI,” titled “Riptide,” is set to broadcast on December 17. Afterward, it can be streamed if you have a Paramount+ subscription. In this episode, a dangerous shooting incident will prompt the FBI team to look towards Clay for answers. However, a sneak peek of the show suggests that Maggie might harbor doubts about OA’s old friend’s loyalty, given his questionable intentions and Maggie’s suspicions that were hinted at during Season 7. Zeeko Zaki, one of the stars, has revealed the importance and personal aspect of the case, stating that it will be intense: “The stakes are high.
This week, the game is as intense as ever. We’re unraveling a massive gold heist, with bodies piling up in its wake. But what really keeps me hooked are the unexpected plot twists and turns that keep things interesting. It’s a treat to see our team working in sync on this one. We’re a quartet for this mission, and things get even more personal when my buddy Clay gets entangled in the action.
As a dedicated fan, I must say that this season, it seems Tiff won’t be part of our quartet anymore following Katherine Renee Kane’s departure. However, let me assure you, “Riptide” isn’t promising another episode where Scola experiments with new partners. Regarding Clay’s role after he sought OA’s aid in the past, against the agent’s better judgment, Zeeko Zaki didn’t reveal the specifics of how this affects OA. Yet, the actor was effusive in his admiration for Guy Lockard joining the cast of FBI, having previously starred on Chicago Med.
They did an outstanding job, and it was truly enjoyable to participate and kick things off with immense enthusiasm as my friend returned to the scene. Additionally, it was a pleasure to hear Maggie’s insights, and witness the events unfold firsthand. As I watched, my intuition stirred, and observing that plotline unfold has been quite entertaining.
Time alone will reveal if this storyline is relevant in the upcoming year, but One Above All considering Clay as a friend doesn’t automatically make him immune to picking up on suspicious activities.
How has it felt for the actors to collaborate for the first time on-screen, given their characters share a complex past dating back to their military days, as Guy Lockard debuted as Clay this season but is part of OA’s history? I posed this question to Zaki, and he responded:
The experience was incredibly enjoyable. Each of us has unique bonds with our long-standing friends or newly acquired ones, as well as those from school and work. It was fantastic to sense an immediate connection, one that we could embrace and explore various scenes together on set.
In my opinion, the aspect of the episode that piqued my curiosity about OA isn’t so much Clay, given that he hasn’t had enough screen time yet for a solid guess about his actions. Instead, I’m left wondering where Maggie stands on trusting Clay, which appears to be significant in “Riptipe.” Zeeko Zaki hinted at the kind of ally Maggie could become for OA in the fall finale.
She consistently stands by my side, which I’m genuinely pleased to witness unfold. The significance of this personal bond between us is clear as we watch it develop, even though she may have doubts or reservations. However, when it comes to joining me in the car, she never hesitates and that’s truly heartening to observe.
Personally speaking, it’s heartening to learn directly from the actor about the upcoming developments between Maggie and OA – two characters I deeply admire. To catch a sneak peek of how Maggie might shape (or not shape) OA in the fall finale, here’s a quick look at the promo below:
