Experience the delightful blossom of youthful affection, a hint of unease due to a love triangle predicament, yet the exhilaration of picking sides between two brothers. Indeed, it’s nearly time for another plunge into the tumultuous ocean waves as we eagerly anticipate the return of the captivating teen drama series The Summer I Turned Pretty, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. This enthralling show is adapted from Jenny Han’s beloved novel trilogy of the same name, and following the success of its first two seasons in 2022 and 2023, Season 3 is expected soon.
In the upcoming third season, there’s a wealth of storylines to explore, delve into, and wrap up, given that the second season finale saw Belly (Lola Tung) in a relationship with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), while leaving behind the remnants of her past love with Conrad (Christopher Briney). Without wasting any more time, let’s dive into all things related to the returning cast members in the Prime Video series and the narrative of TSITP Season 3, as we eagerly await its release. It promises to be quite a ride!
‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Cast
A captivating series transcends ordinary excitement by featuring a cast that breathes life into fascinating characters, giving viewers someone to truly admire. Be it the talented ensemble of the popular Netflix teen show My Life With the Walter Boys, or the dynamic Prime Video series Maxton Hall, the actors consistently elevate each production to its peak potential. Shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty are no exception, and thankfully, Season 3 will welcome back some of the most beloved characters and performers.
In the upcoming series, Lola Tung will once again step into the shoes of Belly Conklin. She’ll be accompanied by Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno, who are set to play the Fisher brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah respectively. It’s a thrill to know these talented actors will reprise their roles, and the anticipation is high for their performances on screen once more. It’s safe to assume that the rest of the main cast will return as well. This includes Sean Kaufman portraying Belly’s brother, Steven, Rain Spencer as Belly’s best friend, Taylor, and Jackie Chung as Laurel, Belly’s mother.
In the second season of TSITP, it was only Kyra Sedgwick who confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning as Aunt Julia for the upcoming season. It would have been intriguing to witness a deeper bond between her and the Fisher boys, especially given their recent loss of their mother. However, with the resolution of the uncertainties surrounding the Cousins’ house, it seems there isn’t much more her character could contribute to the new storyline.
‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Release Date
How Many Episodes Will There Be?
As summer swiftly approaches, we’re getting closer to the premiere of Season 3 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty”. Mark your calendars for July 17th, 2025 on Prime Video. The anticipation is starting to wane, and here’s some fantastic news to sweeten the deal – Season 3 will consist of 11 episodes, one more than its predecessors.
As a movie reviewer, I’m regretfully announcing that Season 3 of TSITP will be its final chapter. Given that this teen drama is a novel-to-series adaptation, where each season is tied to one of the three books, it doesn’t come as a shock. However, bidding farewell to Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad’s tempestuous love triangle stirs up a bittersweet mix of emotions. Yet, the anticipation surrounding who Belly ultimately chooses remains an intriguing mystery that leaves us eager for its resolution.
Warning: Book spoilers ahead!
‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Plot
Season 3 promises excitement without a doubt, as Belly’s tale has multiple paths to unfold. Readers of Jenny Han’s series will recall that despite dating Jeremiah, Belly eventually ends their relationship after discovering his infidelity. Following reconciliation, Belly and Jeremiah become engaged, but right before their wedding day, Belly recognizes her feelings for Conrad, leading them to rekindle their romance. Admittedly, it’s a somewhat complicated situation.
In the third season of TSITP, it seems dedicated to sticking with the original storyline, but with Lola (Belly) and Gavin (Jeremiah) recently filmed in Paris, a location not found in the book, there’s speculation that the series could venture off course. While it’s certain that the final season will delve into who Belly will choose and how the brothers will reconcile after the sensational love triangle of this generation, there’s also the possibility that it might steer clear from the questionable character assassination of Jeremiah. It would be more fitting to omit the infidelity storyline as it doesn’t align with his character development at all. Instead, the series could (and perhaps will) concentrate on how the brothers treat Belly and what is best for her overall.
