As a gamer putting on my headphones, I’ve got some disappointing news to share. It turns out that, just like me having to pause my gaming sessions sometimes, The Weeknd is also hitting the pause button. He’s delaying the release of his brand-new album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” and cancelling his Rose Bowl concert, all because of those relentless wildfires raging in Los Angeles right now. It’s a tough time for us all, and I hope everyone stays safe out there.
He shared on Instagram, “In light of respect and care for the residents of Los Angeles County, I’ve decided to cancel the Rose Bowl concert that was set for January 25th. This city has often sparked inspiration in me, and my sympathies are with everyone affected during this challenging period.
Given these circumstances, I’ve chosen to delay the launch of my album until January 31st. My commitment still lies in assisting the restoration of these affected communities and helping their remarkable residents as they rebuild.
As a gamer speaking, If you’re one of the awesome folks who grabbed tickets through Ticketmaster for my show at the Rose Bowl, don’t worry about a thing! Your refund is on its way automatically. But if you scored your ticket from another reseller, my apologies, but you’ll need to reach out directly to where you made that purchase to sort things out.
Tomorrow’s rush hour signals the concluding part of The Weeknd’s current three-album series, which includes “After Hours” and “Dawn FM”. Beyond the musical aspect, this project will also be developed into a movie featuring Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and The Weeknd.
