As a gamer with a penchant for music and art, the news of The Weeknd’s latest venture into the realm of vinyl LPs, featuring the mesmerizing artwork of Hajime Sorayama, has sent my heart racing! I can’t help but feel like I’m witnessing a beautiful fusion of technology, sci-fi, and rebirth – a testament to the evolving nature of art itself.
The Weeknd recently introduced a special edition vinyl LP titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” which showcases artwork by his frequent collaborator, Hajime Sorayama.
In the design for the forthcoming variant, the acclaimed Japanese artist deviates slightly from his customary style to portray the theme of renewal in “Hurry Up Tomorrow.” The image depicts a child submerged underwater wearing an experimental suit adorned with various cords; this artwork remains connected to the artist’s conventional works centered on technology and sci-fi, but also symbolizes The Weeknd’s longing for resurrection.
Tomorrow’s rush will signify the last part of The Weeknd’s current three-album series, which includes “After Hours” and “Dawn FM”. Beyond the music, this project is also being developed into a film, with Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and The Weeknd himself taking on roles in it.
Stay tuned for an official release date for Hurry Up Tomorrow.
