The Weeknd is looking to debut at No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200 with Hurry Up Tomorrow.
According to HITS Daily Double’s projections, the upcoming album “Hurry Up Tomorrow” is expected to sell a total of 380,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 260,000 coming from traditional album sales alone. If these predictions hold true, this new release will surpass the initial sales of its 2022 predecessor “Dawn FM” by more than double, as it debuted at No. 2. Furthermore, ChartData is reporting that if these numbers are accurate, “Hurry Up Tomorrow” will have the largest debut of any album in 2025 thus far.
Tomorrow’s song acts as the concluding piece in The Weeknd’s trilogy of albums that also includes Dawn FM and After Hours. This final album boasts collaborations with various artists such as Justice, Anitta, Travis Scott, Florence and the Machine, Future, Playboi Carti, Giorgio Moroder, and Lana Del Rey. The primary production duties were handled by Mike Dean and The Weeknd himself.
According to HITS Daily Double, The Weeknd’s new album ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ is projected to secure the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart by selling between 350,000 and 375,000 units in its first week.
It will more than double ‘Dawn FM’ and mark the biggest debut of 2025 so far.
