On the upcoming weekend, just as every other weekend and day, I’ll be engaging in Pokemon Go play. The local Pokemon Go team I manage is organizing a cleanup event over the weekend, aiming to tidy up our town while also catching Pokemon! Since Niantic acknowledges our group via their Pokemon Go Ambassador Program, participating in such cleanups and distributing some of the merchandise we receive from them is always rewarding.

This Sunday, there’s a Research Day in-game, so I’m planning to tackle those research tasks and try to solve them. I’ll also give Solebound a spin, a new AR game I’ve recently downloaded. Solebound appears to focus on exploring the places you live, although I haven’t delved too deep into it yet. I’ll be giving both a go during my Pokemon Go escapades.

This week, two games are on my list to play. The first one is Elder Scrolls: Castles, which was recently released by Bethesda. Frankly, when I heard they were coming out with another mobile game, I couldn’t help but raise a skeptical eyebrow like many others. Yes, Fallout Shelter has been and still is popular, but I must confess to being a pessimist about big studios trying their hand at mobile games. With so many closures this year from well-regarded mobile developers, it’s easy to see why I might have concerns. However, after reading Jack’s review of Elder Scrolls: Castles, it seems like an enjoyable little simulation game, and I’m eager to start building my kingdom.

Additionally, I’m interested in exploring Suzya’s Dice Route, a more affordable and minimalistic alternative to Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls Castles. As I grow older, I prefer games that require strategy over quick reflexes – mine have slowed down with age. Dice Route seems to be just the game for me, as it promises increasing challenges, which could lead to both moments of frustration and triumph. Plus, I find dice visually appealing. Perhaps it’s a quirky preference!

As a gamer, I’ve set down my Ghost of Tsushima adventure once more, for what feels like the umpteenth time – it seems my gaming skills have taken a turn for the simpler. Will I be stuck with just tapping games forever? It appears so, but at least Usagi Shima is here to keep me company this weekend. Who wouldn’t want to groom, feed, and play hide-and-seek with adorable bunnies? Sign me up!

As a gamer, I’m thrilled about Neko Atsume 2, but unfortunately, it’s been pushed back to later this year. If you haven’t experienced its charm yet, this game has you managing a feline-focused life where you offer your cat masters fishy treats in exchange for their company. And trust me, once you start accumulating those treats to buy more for your new furry friends, it becomes quite the fulfilling lifestyle!

Having spent countless hours in the vast virtual worlds of Pokemon and Monster Hunter Now over the years, I find myself once again immersed in my familiar duties this weekend. A seasoned adventurer, I have failed in my mission yet again, leaving me with the task of crafting 43 weapons before moving on to the next challenge. But, amidst the grinding and leveling up, there’s always a glimmer of excitement that lights up my gaming world – the anticipation of a new arrival. In this case, it’s Balatro, who will be making his grand entrance on the 26th. I can hardly wait to explore the unknown with him by my side and conquer new territories together. The thrill of discovery and the pursuit of mastery never fades, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

To ready oneself for similar challenges, I plan to engage in other deck-building games to cultivate a mathematical approach. This will involve prolonging my Apple Arcade subscription to enjoy Monster Train and Slay The Spire+. I’ve long been an admirer of both games, having noted some user interface concerns when Slay The Spire was initially ported. However, I’m eager to revisit the game to see if those issues have been addressed over time.

Lately, I’ve found myself thinking about strategies, and after experiencing a few disappointments with Darkest Dungeon, I decided to revisit the engaging Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. In my opinion, it’s one of the best adaptations of the tabletop game, second only to Darktide in conveying the atmosphere of the grim, dark future.

Over the weekend, I have a flight to take, so Vampire Survivors will be my game of choice for now. If I’m in the mood for more strategy games, I might download Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge. I found it quite enjoyable as a mobile card game, particularly because it effectively adapts tabletop tactics and mechanics for mobile devices.
