Following Jennifer Coolidge’s shocking character death on TV in 2022, this season centers around Natasha Rothwell‘s character, Belinda Lindsey, who was initially depicted as a compassionate spa manager at a Maui resort. In this installment, Belinda is taking a break at the Thailand branch when she unexpectedly encounters Tanya’s husband, Greg. There are strong suspicions that it was some dangerous gay individuals residing in Italy who may have orchestrated Tanya’s demise. When TopMob interviewed Natasha Rothwell, she shared insights about returning to the series due to its widespread fame and why viewers should definitely be wary of Belinda’s fate.
In a recent conversation with Natasha Rothwell during our meeting in Los Angeles, she reminisced about joining the cast of “The White Lotus” before it became the acclaimed series it is today. According to Rothash, this is what she recounted:
In early 2020, amidst the global pandemic before vaccines were available, I found myself facing an unusual situation: I had to board a plane despite my intense fear. The world was filled with dread due to Covid-19, and yet, we ended up creating a sort of self-contained artistic sanctuary. It was extraordinary because we couldn’t leave, so we lived, worked, slept, ate, and socialized all in the same place. This unique circumstance forged an unparalleled bond among us, making it feel like we were building a special family. I doubt I’ll ever find myself in such a distinctive situation again.
Initially, Mike White’s HBO series was intended as a self-contained six-episode miniseries with no plans for further seasons. But due to its immense popularity, it didn’t take long before the show was given another chance and transformed into an anthology series, as Rothwell went on to explain.
In Season 3, things have expanded significantly – the cast is massive, the production quality is off the charts, but there’s still the familiar touch of Mike White and his team. Upon joining for Season 3, I found that we shared the same director of photography (DP), assistant directors (AD), hair and makeup crew, wardrobe department, and costume team. This made it feel like returning home, despite all the changes. I believe Mike has worked hard to preserve the essence of the show.
In a season where Tanya met her unfortunate demise, Natasha Rothwell was not present. However, she eagerly watched and reacted dramatically, even tossing her phone in shock. The actress also reached out to Jennifer Coolidge with disbelief about the significant turn of events. With her character now playing a pivotal role in Season 3, here’s what she hinted during our chat:

Though Natasha Rothwell didn’t take part in the Italy season where Tanya perished, she certainly watched and reacted fervently, even throwing her phone away. She also messaged Jennifer Coolidge with astonishment about the dramatic twist. Now that she’s a key figure in Season 3, here’s what she shared during our conversation:
It’s delightful to play a character who inspires the audience to think “Is this awesome?” or “That’s insane, isn’t it?”, as she serves as a stabilizing influence throughout this season. I take great care in ensuring that her portrayal is comforting and uplifting for viewers. However, this time around, she’s not as secure from the challenges ahead, with danger lurking and threatening the peace she sought. I believe the audience will share her anxiety, and it’s justified.
In the series “The White Lotus,” we find that many viewers, including myself, tend to sympathize with Belinda, as she appears out of place among the wealthy guests and their luxurious resort perks such as elaborate pillow menus. Unlike others in Season 1, who were embroiled in scandals, Belinda seemed more observant from the sidelines. However, this season seems to hint that Belinda may become entangled in the drama herself, given that Tanya’s husband is also a guest at the resort.
Oh my, there’s already a multitude of speculations swirling around White Lotus Season 3, but I genuinely hope that Belinda won’t become Greg’s next unfortunate target! The new episodes of the series are scheduled for Sundays in 2025.
