Once more, we’re approaching the season: Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco and GDC week are here! This means it’s time for me to board a car-like vehicle with a mix of plastic and metal, and speed my way across the Atlantic Ocean, landing on the western side of the United States. Essentially, this is a trial for the ‘commuter’s versatile tool’, the mobile phone, so I’ve already mapped out my itinerary for amusement during that lengthy eleven-and-a-half-hour journey.

Initially, it’s essential to fill these gaps with movies you haven’t seen yet. I’ve looked up the schedule and found out that The Silent Hour, Rumours, Juror #2, and Conclave are scheduled for the flights there and back, so those will consume some of your time.

Regarding mobile games, I’ve found myself deeply engrossed in the newly launched game Songs of Conquest, wanting to dedicate more and more hours to it. I aim to complete Final Fantasy 1 (and the rest through Apple Arcade) as well, and I plan to start spending time on Mutazione soon. Suzerain and Six Ages 2 also catch my eye, but I’m uncertain if I’ll manage to play them just yet. Perhaps I’ll get to them on my return journey.

She’ll be exclaiming in delight over the fresh books debuting at the upcoming local book fair this weekend, only to lament the impending demise of her wallet upon returning home later that day.

This weekend, I’m planning to attempt some Dynamax Raids in Pokemon Go, specifically for Raikou. However, since I’ll be attending Pocket Gamer Connects and GDC in San Francisco, I might not have many chances due to the limited time and the difficulty of these battles, hence the hopeful tone.

On the upcoming flight, it’s likely I’ll download several games as entertainment, but I haven’t given much thought to what comes after that. Unfortunately, I tend to experience severe jet lag whenever I arrive in America, so let’s hope for the best. However, I’m optimistic that I might discover something on the exhibition floor that piques my interest.

I’ve fallen quite behind with the Thomas K. Young library, it’s quite awkward. Before venturing into a new game called Be Brave Barb, I must complete Dadish 3D, the final installment of the Dadish series. So, I’m gearing up for a charming and vibrant mobile gaming experience, involving guiding cute round characters across platforms. Fingers crossed that Thomas K. Young will engage with us in conversation someday.

I’ll have to retrieve my long-stored iOS gadget to engage in the wickedly fun game, Expelled, which Cat suggested. Additionally, I must remember to give the game Songs of Conquest a spin, as per Iwan’s suggestion.

Oh, the concept of Disco Elysium on mobile devices sure presents an intriguing dilemma. On one side, I must admit that the strategy to create a custom port using visual novel-style graphics instead of trying to fit the larger isometric scenes onto smaller screens seems quite clever. However, the notion of tailoring it for a “TikTok audience” and the lingering effects of Zaum’s antics might not be so easily dismissed.

From my perspective as an eager fan, I’d say this early access version of Disco Elysium is quite appealing for those who have longed to dive into its world. Visually, it seems like a solid port. However, much like any post-launch update, the communication could use some polishing.

After a busy spell with moving locations and no time for gaming, I’m thrilled to carve out some leisure time over the weekend to immerse myself in some favorite pastimes! My schedule is jam-packed, from revisiting the latest happenings in Cookie Run: Kingdom, to diving headfirst into the newly unveiled DC: Dark Legion. Frankly, I wasn’t expecting much from the latter, but it’s turned out to be quite captivating! It has a vibe that brings Fallout: Shelter to mind, so if you’re fond of this genre, I can’t emphasize enough how much you should give it a try.

Among the notable additions to my gaming roster, I’ve found myself deeply engrossed in Tribe Nine, a game I’ve been dedicating each day to for the recent past. Another title that has piqued my interest is Tiny Farm: Remastered.

My idea? Set some pleasant tunes playing softly, settle into my preferred seat, and let loose by simply engaging in playtime! This is how I typically unwind and have a wonderful, laid-back weekend.

My intention? Have some soothing music as background noise, relax in my favourite spot, and just have fun! This is my usual method of spending a tranquil, enjoyable weekend.

On weekends, I plan to immerse myself in Xbox Game Pass for a good chunk of time, aside from briefly exploring Wuthering Waves. I’ve experimented with streaming on both PC and Samsung TV, and I must say, the performance has been impressive. However, what truly took me aback was discovering that I could play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on my phone via the Xbox app. Remarkably smooth, it seems! My intention is to push the limits of the Xbox App’s capabilities, aiming to find its breaking point – though I can’t quite fathom why.

Over the weekend, I’ve got an exciting roster of games lined up for me after a challenging fortnight filled with moving chaos. Regardless, I’ll be kicking things off by immersing myself in The Sims 4. I can’t wait to delve deep into understanding the game itself and its intricate mechanics. Let’s see what this virtual world has in store for me!

Moving on, let’s delve into Valhalla Survival – a game that shares resemblance with Survivor.io, boasting ominous, stylish visuals. It’s engaging and relatively easy to grasp.

It seems like I’ve decided to kick off my journey in Football Manager 2024, as the 2025 version won’t be available anymore.

Additionally, I’m eager to maximize my sleep time since I’m quite exhausted and it feels like I should go into a deep slumber similar to a sleeping bear.

This weekend, I don’t have to think twice about it. I’m going to play Thomas K Young’s latest game, Be Brave, which features a character named Barb wearing a hat shaped like a plant pot. Since I’ve enjoyed all of their previous games, including Dadish 3D, I’m excited to meet this new character. If I were to create a list of my favorite video game characters, Dadish would probably be on it, so Barb has some big expectations to live up to.
