This past week, I’ve been quite enthusiastic and have downloaded a bunch of games from Apple Arcade, particularly drawn in by the recent discount on Space Invaders: Infinity Gene, Puffies, Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic, and Katamari Damacy.
For me, Puffies stands out as the best choice; it’s a fun game centered around creating unique sticker sheets similar to puzzles. I’ve been enjoying playing it in turns with my nine-year-old, who can’t wait to explore the duck and capybara-themed collections.
Apart from that, I’ve just finished a trade in the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. I really want to finish off the expansions before the next one arrives, and based on my calculations, it seems like it won’t be long. At present, I only need two cards from Space-Time Smackdown and four for Shining Light.

At last, I’ve managed to obtain a Giratina EX card and now I understand the excitement surrounding the latest Pokémon TCG Pocket meta. While I personally prefer my trusty Croagunk, it remains to be seen if this new addition will shake up my strategy.
In our Pocket Gamer Podcast, we delve a bit deeper into unique Pokemon. To keep things focused, let’s try to avoid unnecessary digressions from now on. Meanwhile, I’m currently working on a review of an emotionally engaging point-and-click adventure game. It’s always satisfying to shed some cathartic tears over the weekend!

It feels like an ideal moment for me to revisit the Go series on mobile, particularly games like Hitman Go and Deus Ex Go. These captivating board game adaptations of their original series were taken off the market prematurely, and it brings joy to my heart knowing they’re back.
It appears that DECA is set to oversee a collection of notable titles that were previously distributed by Embracer. Here’s hoping they will continue to manage this library effectively for many years to come.

This month, there’s an abundance of adorable and cozy games being released, leaving me a bit bewildered about which ones to choose for the weekend. I’m inclining towards getting either Locomoto or Promise Mascot Agency. While Promise Mascot Agency might not be overly cozy, it certainly appears charming. Regardless of my choice, I can foresee that it will engulf my entire weekend.

At present, I’ve played approximately 60 hours of Xenoblade Chronicles X. Feeling a need for a respite, I found myself drawn towards Pokemon again. Swapping games, I powered up Pokemon Scarlet, but quickly closed it, apologized to the gods of Xenoblade, and promptly returned to Mira. It’s where I feel at home now.

Moving forward, my attention will also be directed towards Prince of Persia: Lost Crown, a game that has significantly altered my expectations for the series. To be honest, I adored the free-flowing acrobatic swordplay in 3D arenas from previous games, which, despite their imperfections, were undeniably entertaining. However, discovering it transformed into a 2.5 platformer took me by surprise, and I’m eager to determine if this twist is a positive or negative development.
However, considering Super Meat Boy Forever performs exceptionally well on mobile devices, it’s plausible that the same could apply here too.

Apart from my progress in the Pokemon TCG Pocket ranked ladder, which is improving beyond my initial expectations, I’m excited about trying out MageTrain. This game is developed by Benjamin Dressler and offers a change of pace compared to his previous project, Crux, which was centered around ascending.
In this game, you assemble a joyful group of characters inspired by fantasy lore and navigate through the terrain, eliminating menacing creatures along the way. Your team will attack automatically, so your primary focus is on strategic movement rather than setting up your party for success initially. I’m aiming for it to fit comfortably within the casual strategy genre.
