- The Xbox Mobile app will soon let you buy and play games through it
- It’s not clear how this will relate to the Microsoft Mobile Game store that’s been proposed
- But it seems this is all down to recent changes forced on Google
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and intrigue about the latest developments in the mobile gaming world. The recent announcement by Microsoft that their Xbox Mobile app will soon allow users to buy and play games directly through it is a game-changer, pun intended.
It’s been announced that the Xbox Mobile App will soon enable you to purchase and play games directly within it. This announcement was made by Sarah Bond, the head of Xbox at Microsoft, on Twitter. She also confirmed that these new features are a result of recent modifications made in Google’s storefront this week.
Essentially, we’re looking at an expansion of Xbox’s services, but the specifics on how this new feature will vary or harmonize with the newly unveiled and eagerly awaited Microsoft Mobile store remain uncertain.
It seems quite plausible that Microsoft might pose a question regarding their game store, given it was initially proposed prior to Google’s recent adjustments in their own storefront structure. You may recall that these alterations will persist for merely three years, as opposed to the initially suggested six. Consequently, Microsoft could be eager to capitalize on these changes swiftly while simultaneously working on something more substantial for the future.
More difficult than you might expect
As a passionate admirer, I must confess that transitioning a brick-and-mortar store into a mobile platform is more challenging than one might initially anticipate. Yet, it’s not entirely surprising given the circumstances. Microsoft appears to be struggling to keep pace with its competitors, but this could be due, in part, to some severe workforce reductions that have occurred within the company recently. These layoffs seem to have delayed the proposed July release of their gaming store.
Still, it’s good to see it’s at least somewhat in progress.
