As a long-time gamer with a soft spot for both Microsoft and Nintendo, I can’t help but be intrigued by the recent viral concepts of exclusive gaming controllers that pay homage to beloved franchises. The ‘thicc’ Pikachu controller, in particular, has captured my attention, as it brings back fond memories of the quirky charm of Pokemon and my childhood.
You’ve likely come across stunning Xbox concepts online, showcasing unique designs inspired by various games like Fallout, Far Cry, and Final Fantasy. Microsoft skillfully creates these eye-catching pieces, yet the majority of us can’t obtain them due to their availability only through sweepstakes.
As an old-school gamer, I can’t help but reminisce about the nostalgic Pikachu-themed Nintendo 64 controller from my youth. Coincidentally, Microsoft recently unveiled their own playful homage to pop culture with the ‘juicy’ Deadpool and Wolverine controllers as a nod to Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine project.

Currently, Deadpool and Wolverine are popular figures in the media, joined by Fortnite in the trend. Regrettably, Call of Duty seems to be absent from this wave. Sadly, there’s no news about Detective Pikachu 2, which could potentially lead to a NSFW Switch edition featuring an adult Pikachum performing a literal thunderclap. However, we believe Nintendo is missing an opportunity by not catering to their mature audience with Pokemon.
