As a seasoned theme park enthusiast with over two decades of roller coaster-induced adrenaline surges and popcorn-scented memories under my belt, I must say that the upcoming Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort has me more thrilled than a kid on Christmas morning. With Dark Universe’s Burning Blade Tavern ablaze with fire effects and the windmill casting an ominous silhouette over the landscape, it’s clear that this new venture is going to be a monster hit (pun intended).
Frankly speaking, I couldn’t have been more thrilled about 2025 than learning that Epic Universe will debut at Universal Orlando Resort. It’s not often we get a cutting-edge theme park launching (in fact, next year we’ll see two), and with the addition of new Harry Potter experiences, the exhilarating Stardust Racers roller coaster, and more, the park was already shaping up to be sensational. However, it appears even more breathtaking when ablaze with anticipation.
Universal Studios’ Epic Universe is nearing its grand opening, and everyone at Universal Creative is putting in long hours to ensure everything runs smoothly. They’re even testing fire effects at the Burning Blade Tavern, a feature of the Dark Universe land that focuses on Universal Monsters. A recent video by Bioreconstruct, who often shares sneak peeks of work-in-progress at Orlando theme parks, has left me utterly amazed. Take a look for yourself.
The Dark Universe segment within Epic Universe has been the aspect I’ve been most eagerly anticipating, and this recent development merely bolsters my excitement. Furthermore, I now know precisely which section of the new Helios Grand Hotel I must book a stay at – the one offering a view of the windmill, as it can be seen in the background of the video.
The windmill, symbolizing Universal’s initial “Frankenstein” production, towers over the Burning Blade Tavern, one of the primary dining spots within Dark Universe. Although the blades won’t be perpetually ablaze when Epic Universe opens, we anticipate it will illuminate regularly during the evenings, as shown here, and it truly is a spectacle to behold.
I can hardly wait to see it from ground level, staring up at its towering height. At the end of the video, they give a glimpse of some of the lighting adorning the Frankenstein tower. Designing lighting is my favorite aspect of theme parks, and Epic Universe certainly appears to have mastered it – watching them light up at night is always a spectacular sight, especially when done skillfully, and it seems that Epic Universe has got it right.
As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’ve got to say, the prospect of visiting Epic Universe is nothing short of thrilling! It’s nearly a guarantee that this place will be spectacular. However, I must confess, securing a spot there isn’t as straightforward as I’d like it to be. If you don’t possess a Universal Orlando Resort Annual Pass, your only option at the moment is to purchase a ticket package for all three parks. But here’s the catch – you can only spend one day at the new Epic Universe.
