As a dedicated fan of the League of Legends universe, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation as Riot Games and Netflix announce three new TV series! Ever since I was first introduced to the rich lore and captivating characters in Arcane, I’ve been hooked. The announcement that pre-production for one of these shows has already begun feels like a dream come true.
Although the “Arcane” series based on “League of Legends” by Riot Games and Netflix has concluded, the creative minds behind the game are currently developing three more TV shows.
According to Arcane showrunner Christian Linke, who spoke with streamer Necrit94, one of the three shows has been in pre-production for approximately a year. He also mentioned that the worlds of Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia will soon have their own series, marking the next stages in this cinematic universe. Linke added that they are not close to finishing, but instead aiming to expand significantly, exploring all regions and creating a diverse slate to tell fresh stories and continue existing ones.
(Spoilers ahead for those who are yet to finish Arcane season two): Additional plot details about the next three shows are yet to be revealed, but with the conclusion of the stories of Jinx, Ekko, Vi, Mel and the rest of the Arcane characters, the one storyline that could be expanded upon from the first series is Mel’s return to her home of Noxus following her betrayal of both her mother, Ambessa, and the elusive Black Rose organization.
Previously, it was regretfully shared with fans that the series “Arcane” would conclude with its second season, as they aim to explore other tales within the universe of “LoL”. As stated by the team, since the inception of this project, they had a predetermined ending in mind. Consequently, the narrative arc of “Arcane” comes to a close with this second season. The series “Arcane” serves as the initial chapter in our larger storytelling expedition and collaboration with the talented animation studio, Fortiche.
The show named “Arcane” was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and it made history as the first streaming animated series to receive an Emmy award for Outstanding Animated Program in its first season.
