As a seasoned gamer with a keen eye for suspense and horror elements in movies, I must say the trailer for “Do Not Open” has piqued my interest. The concept of technology turning against us is not new, but the way it’s presented here seems to tap into our collective fear of being overly reliant on digital devices.
Entertainment Squad’s genre label The Horror Collective has released a trailer for Do Not Open, a psychological thriller threatening to expose “the terrifying consequences of our modern obsession with technology” and offer “a stark reminder that the dangers we fear most might already be in our hands —on our phones, tablets, and computers.”
Under the guidance of director Brian Babarik, this upcoming movie features Kian Lawson-Khalili, Swedish actress Johanna Smitz, and debutante Noëlle Gutierrez. Pondering over the question: “What if the technology you rely on transforms into your biggest foe?”, it is set to be released on digital platforms on November 12th.
The teaser for the movie “Do Not Open,” produced by Novel Thoughts Production, suggests that a family’s life spirals out of control when their daughter installs a trendy app to boost her popularity among friends. This, in turn, causes an alarming transformation in the family members’ bond with their electronic devices.
Babarik remarked, “We spend far too much time fixated on our screens without considering what might be observing us in return.” In the film “Do Not Open“, we delve into the consequences of lifting the veil and examining what lies beyond all those tiny cameras and listening devices that are monitoring us round-the-clock.
The Horror Collective’s forthcoming titles encompass two intriguing stories: “The Deserving,” which introduces a silent serial killer tormented by his past, and “The Unraveling,” a chilling tale that serves as a poetic and gloomy testament to the cost of love.
