As a long-time follower and admirer of Bollywood, I’ve had the privilege to witness some incredible on-screen collaborations, but none quite like the unique bond between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar. From their initial days in Ajnabee to their most recent hit Good Newwz, their chemistry has always been a highlight.
Kareena Kapoor Khan has collaborated with some top industry professionals, including the three Khans. Yet, her affection for her co-star Akshay Kumar stands out exceptionally. During an episode of Koffee With Karan season 7, she sat on the couch next to Aamir Khan, her co-star in Laal Singh Chaddha, but expressed a stronger preference for Akshay.
Kareena was questioned about what she can put up with from Aamir Khan that might not be acceptable from others. To this, Bebo replied, “Aamir takes anywhere between 100 to 200 days to complete a film, while Akshay Kumar finishes in just 30 days.” Quickly responding, Aamir said, “Oh really?” or simply, “Arre.” (This sentence is meant to express surprise or acknowledgement.)
For those not familiar, Kareena and Akshay have appeared in multiple movies together such as Kambakkht Ishq, Aitraaz, Tashan, Ajnabee, and for a short while in Gabbar Is Back. They recently co-starred in the successful 2019 film Good Newwz. Alongside Aamir, Kareena has also acted in films like Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, 3 Idiots, and most recently Laal Singh Chaddha. However, despite being a major box office flop, Laal Singh Chaddha garnered significant acclaim following its release on streaming platforms.
In my perspective, let me clarify that Kareena Kapoor Khan didn’t seem to harbor any saltiness towards Aamir Khan in our recent interaction. On multiple occasions, she has publicly commended him for his dedication and exceptional portrayal of characters. To be specific, during a chat with Mid-day, she acknowledged Aamir as a highly focused individual who immerses himself entirely into his roles, becoming utterly engrossed and committed to them.
“Kareena mentioned that he prefers living among his coworkers and frequently discusses this aspect, which reflects his character. She appreciates this trait about him and adores Aamir Khan for it. Furthermore, she admitted to being a big fan of Aamir. In addition, she shared that she sometimes advises Aamir to relax due to his tendency towards borderline obsession.”
In her professional life, Kareena Kapoor Khan recently appeared in the financially successful film “Crew” alongside Kriti Sanon and Tabu. Currently, she’s preparing for the premiere of “Singham,” directed by Rohit Shetty, where she takes on a leading role.
After a long wait, Bebo’s critically acclaimed film “The Buckingham Murders” is set to hit theaters on September 13, 2024. Directed by Hansal Mehta, this movie made its global debut at the 67th London Film Festival in 2023.
