As a dedicated gamer and movie buff, I’ve always kept my fingers on the pulse of the entertainment industry, especially when it comes to exciting new projects and talented actors gracing our screens. Timothée Chalamet is one such actor who has continuously impressed me with his versatility and commitment to diverse roles. His recent string of high-profile films, from “Dune: Part Two” to “Wonka,” showcases his range and adaptability.
Timothée Chalamet is eyeing the lead role in Josh Safdie’s next film.
The actor is in advanced talks to headline the new film “Marty Supreme,” which is being produced by A24, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s confirmation. Specifics about the storyline are currently undisclosed, but it’s known that this will be an original production.
Safdie will direct the movie, having collaborated on the script with Ronald Bronstein. The producers are Safdie, Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Anthony Katagas.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I get to work with A24 once again on an upcoming project. After producing my last two films, “Good Time” (2017) and “Uncut Gems” (2019), where I co-directed with my brother Benny Safdie, we’ve decided to part ways as directors but continue our collaboration through our production company Elara Pictures. Josh Braun, who has writing credits on both “Good Time,” featuring Robert Pattinson, and “Uncut Gems,” starring Adam Sandler, will be joining us at A24 for this new adventure.
Marty Supreme is known to include ping-pong in the film, and A24 hinted at this with a preview picture they shared. The caption on their X (previously Twitter) account read, “Josh Safdie’s MARTY SUPREME with @RealChalamet coming soon.”

I’ve been keeping busy with some exciting projects lately. I’m currently working on the sequel to “Dune,” titled “Dune: Part Two,” and preparing for “Wonka” and “Bones and All.” Additionally, I have the privilege of taking on the role of Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s biopic, “A Complete Unknown.” Not only will I be starring in this film, but I’m also producing it. It’s an incredible opportunity to be a part of both sides of the production process.
As a big fan of the Safdie brothers, I’m excited to share that Marty Supreme will be Josh Safdie’s first solo directorial project since 2008’s The Pleasure of Being Robbed. Meanwhile, Benny Safdie is bringing Dwayne Johnson to life in A24’s biopic, The Smashing Machine, about the inspiring story of former wrestler and mixed martial artist Mark Kerr.
Variety was first to report on Chalamet eyeing the role.
