Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake is out now on iOS and Android

Although the traditional platformer game might not be as trendy as it once was, there remains a snug niche for games that involve jumping, dodging, and shooting in the mobile gaming world. A prime example of this is the reappearance of Tiny Dangerous Dungeons, a Metroidvania-style platformer. The updated version, Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake, has just been released on iOS and Android!

Interestingly, Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake follows its vintage influences in an unexpected manner. It does so by enhancing the graphics, moving from the monochrome Game Boy’s black and green to something akin to 16-bit consoles. This gives it the feel of a genuine reissue from the past. Beyond that, this is essentially a revamped, refined, and improved version of the initial release, effectively addressing many issues from its previous iteration.

As a gamer, I ran into an inconvenience while playing Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake: it doesn’t support controller use. This can be quite a hassle for a platformer game like this, as I discovered when I played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. However, TDDR seems to be more lenient on the difficulty side, which makes up for that shortcoming to some extent.

If you prefer a game that combines classic platforming with elements of Metroidvania, and offers improved visuals without demanding high-tech equipment, then Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake is an excellent choice for you. The graphics have been upgraded, allowing you to appreciate vibrant pixel art, while maintaining a light system requirement.

One potential problem could be the absence of controller compatibility, as mentioned earlier. However, it wouldn’t shock me if they rectify this small omission in the not-too-distant future.

By the way, after wrapping up with TDDR, there’s still plenty of platforming fun to be had! Take a look at our selection of the top 25 platforming games for iOS and Android for even more excitement!
