Todd Chrisley has been incarcerated for some time now following his and wife Julie’s 2022 conviction on charges including bank fraud and tax evasion. After serving their sentences, they began appealing their cases and more recently have expressed interest in presidential pardons. These would need to be granted by former President Donald Trump, whom Todd supports. It appears that this political allegiance may have played a role in a MAGA-related incident involving Chrisley.

What Allegedly Happened To Todd Chrisley In Prison, And How Were Politics Involved?

In my personal opinion, while serving time, I found myself unwittingly making a political statement – or so it seemed. A ‘Make America Great Again’ sticker was discovered on a chair in my cell, sparking speculation about my allegiance to the current president. However, according to my attorney Jay Surgent, this decal was forcibly removed by a prison guard. In the interest of maintaining peace, I chose to remain silent amidst the incident, fearing any further backlash might be directed towards me. I can’t help but feel that this incident is yet another example of bias against me, due to my open support for our commander-in-chief.

A 55-year-old real estate investor, who also mentioned that fellow inmates have stickers on their chairs, made additional allegations against the staff at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida. He claimed he’s been subjected to unwarranted searches and disturbances, with guards reportedly tossing his books, rummaging through his clothing, and flipping over his mattress. Furthermore, he alleged that a prison staffer even spilled a soft drink on his bed. According to Jay Surgent, these supposed actions are in retaliation for the negative publicity his client has brought upon the prison.

Ever since his 12-year prison term started, the father of five has been vocal about the conditions in the facility he’s housed in. After remaining silent from behind bars, he accused the institution of providing poor quality food and taking photographs of him while he slept. His daughter Savannah Chrisley, who is 27 years old, echoed similar concerns, stating that her grandfather had no access to air conditioning. She also expressed worry about her grandmother, Julie, at Lexington Medical Center, suggesting they lacked air conditioning as well. However, the Federal Bureau of Prisons defended itself by pointing out its accreditations.

What’s Going On When It Comes To Pardons For The Chrisleys?

Despite facing legal troubles, Todd Chrisley remains hopeful that President Trump may grant him and his wife clemency, who is currently serving a seven-year sentence. Jay Surgent discussed this possibility when he recently spoke to TMZ. Surgent explained why Chrisley seems so optimistic by sharing the following thoughts:

Todd and his spouse are hoping for clemency, yet the decision ultimately rests with President Trump as he reviews their situations. Todd believes that he deserves careful review, since he feels he was deprived of fair treatment under the U.S. Constitution during the criminal justice process.

Besides being the family’s patriarch, Savannah Chrisley has openly shown her backing for the current president. Last year, this social media influencer delivered a speech at the Republican National Convention, where she not only lauded Donald Trump but also criticized those she believed were responsible for her parents’ incarceration. Her opinions in this matter align with her previous statements, particularly her view that the legal system and government bear responsibility for Todd and Julie’s conviction.

At present, it’s uncertain if President Trump, who was inaugurated for his second term in January, will issue pardons for the Chrisleys. However, Todd Chrisley appears to maintain the hope that this might occur. Meanwhile, the FPC (Federal Prison Camp) is scheduled to shut down. It remains to be seen if Todd’s steadfast belief could lead to any additional MAGA-related incidents while he serves his sentence in prison.
