Tom Hardy’s Havoc Just Dropped a Brutal Teaser and I’m Losing My Mind

In April 2021, I shared my enthusiasm for the upcoming movie “Havoc,” starring Tom Hardy, which had been in production for quite some time under the direction of Gareth Evans, known for his action masterpieces like “The Raid” and its sequel. My team has covered all aspects of “Havoc” and updates on it, but we remained curious if it would ever come to fruition.

Lately, our excitement about the upcoming Netflix movie has reached new heights after catching a glimpse of its teaser. It’s not a full-length trailer; in fact, it’s reminiscent of those short promos you see from top streaming platforms. Despite its brevity, the Havoc teaser has me even more eager than before. What’s more, the intense, gory, and action-packed preview is a solid justification for the anticipation I’ve felt for years.

Yeah, I have to talk about this Havoc teaser…

I’m Not Sure Gareth Evans Could Ever Top His Car Chase From The Raid 2, But Havoc Could Prove Me Wrong

I can’t get enough of “The Raid 2” and find myself rewatching its clips quite frequently, a fact I’m not entirely proud of. Released back in 2014, Gareth Evans’ follow-up to “The Raid” was essentially the “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” of crime films, as it amplified everything from the original and added depth and intensity.

In addition to the lengthy 2.5-hour span, the screenplay offered Chris Evans ample opportunity to deliver more exhilarating stunts that surpassed the action-packed fights initially presented in the first movie. This included a thrilling car chase featuring Iko Uwais’ Rama and a convoy of heavily armed henchmen.

In a surprising twist, I initially believed that Evans wouldn’t be able to create another car chase as impressive as this one. However, the sneak peek from Havoc, particularly the shot where the camera swiftly passes a police car and skims alongside a semi-truck, has made me reconsider my thoughts. It appears sleek, smooth, and could quite possibly be over-the-top.

I Didn’t Know I Wanted To See Tom Hardy And Timothy Olyphant Team Up Until Now, But I’m On Board

Actor Timothy Olyphant will join the cast in the movie “Havoc.” I’m not sure about his role or how it fits into the storyline, but he’ll definitely appear alongside Tom Hardy by the end of the film. From what we can gather from the initial trailer, these two characters seem to have a history together. For instance, there are men in masks (similar to Olyphant’s character) who seem to be cops or criminals, and they appear to interact with Hardy’s character at different points.

I never realized how much I yearned to witness Tom Hardy and Timothy Olyphant share a screen together, but here I am, eager beyond belief. Whether they’re portraying friends, foes, or something in between, what truly matters is that I long to watch these two remarkable actors navigate some sort of predicament.

Tom Hardy’s Character Looks Like He’s Seen Some Stuff, And I Can’t Wait To See Where This Goes

From what I understand about Tom Hardy’s character, Walker, he is a seasoned detective who has found himself in the thick of the criminal underworld following a drug deal that went awry. Whether he has friends or foes, I can’t say for certain, but there’s an air about him that suggests he’s no stranger to tough situations over the years.

As a film enthusiast, I’ve always been captivated by characters like those crafted by Thomas Hardy, and Walker is no exception. He appears weary, battered, and his moral compass seems a bit skewed, yet he strives to make the right choices, even when it stirs up a storm of discontent. I can’t help but wonder about Forest Whitaker’s character and his simmering anger towards Walker. I’m on tenterhooks, eagerly anticipating the revelations that lie ahead in this intriguing narrative.

I Know Nothing About The Criminal Underworld In This Movie, But I Fully Trust Gareth Evans’ Vision

Gareth Evans is a talented filmmaker renowned for creating stunning fight scenes, yet he also excels as a writer, crafting massive criminal underworlds that seem both fantastical and authentic. Despite knowing little about the diverse factions in the dark world portrayed in “Havoc”, Evans’ skills have won my confidence, along with the approval of filmgoers worldwide.

Beyond his role in the Raid series, Evans has also provided us with movies such as Merantau and Apostle, along with the popular TV show Gangs of London on Sky Atlantic in the U.K. and AMC+ in the U.S. I’m planning to be a part of it from the very beginning, immersing myself deeply within the universe he has crafted for us.

Well, It Looks Like My List Of ‘Badass Nightclub Fights’ Is About To Get Longer

Among all the thrilling fight scenes from action movies, nothing beats a brawl set in a nightclub or bar for me, and it seems like “Havoc” will offer another exciting addition to my list. I’m curious about how Tom Hardy’s character Walker will get embroiled in a major fight within a stylish, dimly-lit club, but the tantalizing teaser trailer suggests some intense action that has me eagerly anticipating its release.

It’s clear that Gareth Evans doesn’t have any issues with such scenes, given how exceptional The Raid 2 was. With so much time passed (over a decade), I’m eagerly anticipating seeing how the creative director and action scene choreographer has progressed since then. It’s possible that Havoc might challenge the impressive fight scenes in the John Wick series with this upcoming production.

Wait, Was That A Washing Machine Being Thrown From A Semi-Truck? Sign Me Up!

One particular scene in the Havoc teaser has caught my attention repeatedly: it’s a shot where it seems like a washing machine is tossed out of a truck onto a police car, during a high-speed chase sequence from the beginning of the trailer. I don’t know much more about this scene, but using large household appliances as weapons in a fast-paced chase on a bustling road definitely appeals to me.

The highly-anticipated series “Havoc” is set to debut on Netflix on the 25th of April. After years of waiting, a few more weeks won’t matter much.
